Why do Lindsey threads get the padlock?

OK....so I am a kindergartener here ...

Why do threads get the padlock? And on this forum, there are some with lots of posts and others with no so many, yet they all have the padlock...

(With my luck, this thread will get the padlock and I will never go on to first grade.)

I was wondering this too!! Why do so many get closed?

(And how are you keeping, Betsy, long time no type?)

Some people seem to enjoy having a thread to themselves that they can unlock, post in and then lock again, don't ask me why

Thank you for the answer. I thought maybe there was questionable material  or a maximum of space allowed or something.

Being a neophyte, I wasn't sure WHAT was going on, but I wasn't seeing the padlocks on the other forums. I thought maybe Lindsey's management was locking them because he (or someone) didn't like the content.

(See? I am a kindergartner -- nap time!)
