Popular bands you never were crazy about...

Not that I hate but... I never got crazy about Yes or The Who, not my style I think

And I liked Stairway to Heaven and Love Hurts but.. never a fan of Led Z.

Neither Spice Girls, I loved to dance their songs but.. didn't look for them on the radio.

QUEEN. I never saw what the big deal was with Queen. I guess they're ok or whatever, but not *AMAZING*.

DrummerDeanna 01-19-2005 03:20 PM

Pretty much all of them in the music world today lol..I hate rap/hip-hop - and it seems to be dominating right now....

Never been a fan of the boy bands (except for New Kids  )

Also I've never really liked the Rolling Stones.

SuzeQuze 01-19-2005 03:26 PM

Motley Crue. Just too gross for me!

dissention 01-19-2005 03:40 PM

Green Day (oy, they annoy the **** out of me)
Blink 182 (ditto)
Good Charlotte (if I hear one person tell me how amazing they are, I'm going to slit my wrists)
The Eagles (my mother drove me nuts with them as a child)
Rod Stewart (good gracious!)
Queen (to say that Mercury had one helluva voice is an understatement, but the music itself just did nothing for me)
The Rolling Stones (used to love them, but then realized that they haven't done anything worthwhile in years)

skcin 01-19-2005 03:40 PM

The Who

Kiss

Rolling Stones (I'm getting a little more into them now, though)

..to all of these. I like maybe one song from each of these people, except Rolling Stones, who I can't think of one song I like by them.

I hate sharing my fandom with people I hate. -_-

I feel your pain.

That frontman of theirs makes me cringe. He's bloody awful.

DrummerDeanna 01-19-2005 04:17 PM

Oh - that's how I feel about Evanescence - don't know why - I HATE Them...so many people though are like.."Oh man - they're awesome..." They're SO not my cup of tea...

Serrart 01-19-2005 04:51 PM

Neil Young (although, I like Harvest, and some of his other countryish stuff)
Kiss
Queen
Boston
Kansas
Foreigner
Journey
Chicago
(pretty much all of those arena rock bands from the '70s/early '80s)
David Bowie
Pink Floyd
Guns N Roses
Metallica
(pretty much all hair metal bands from the '80s/early '90s)
Nirvana
(pretty much all those loud, angsty grunge bands from the '90s)
Sly & the Family Stone
George Clinton
(pretty much all funk music from the '70s)
Mariah Carey
Celine Dion
Patti LaBelle
Donna Summer
Kylie Minogue
(pretty much all caterwauling divas...and disco...I hate disco...or any music that has a pulsating beat, really)
Teen Pop (boy bands from any decade, Britney, Debbie Gibson, etc.)
Contemporary Country
"Smooth" Jazz/New Age music (Enya, Dave Koz, Kenny G, etc)

Hmm...did I leave anything out?

Hehehe...

There's a lot that I like, actually. :)

I like a lot of old country and bluegrass, country-rock from the '70s (The Eagles, Gram Parsons...some more recent, too...I love Wilco's first two albums :D), '70s singer-songwriter music (Joni, James Taylor, et al), blues, and jazz. I also like what might be termed "adult alternative" (Sheryl Crow-type stuff).
