Has anyone done the backstage tour/platinum thing?
 

What is it like? I did the platinum package for the Atlantic City show and really don't know what to expect. They promise rows 1-5, but there is a difference between front row and fifth row. I also don't know if they give you the signed tourbook, t-shirt, VIP pass, ect. until the show or if they mail it to you. Lastly, is there any chance of meeting the band?

I didn't, but I saw the ppl in Cleveland that did. They were backstage not even 15 minutes...one lady told me all they saw were boxes and crates.... I had better seats than they did through ticketmaster. I'm pretty sure you don't meet the band either.

Correct me if someone had a good experience....

my friend jean-marie did the platinum pkg 4 the holmdel show, she said, when they got there, their tourbooks weren't signed & @ 1st that had upset her :distress: , she was really looking 4ward 2 getting this~ but she said, the tour went on & it was wonderful, the guide's name was john iverson & told them not 2 worry about the the unsigned tourbooks, that they would be compensated~ she said, the tour was pretty extensive ending w/ them all on stage being able 2 play & hold stevie's tamborine & the fanclub took pictures http://www.fleetwoodmac.com/platinum/2004/0529/ ~ she also said what was the best part tho was when it was all over & they were leaving, the band came in really fast said a quick "Hello" :wavey: 2 every1 & signed their tourbooks 4 them, she said it was real quick & that she was so stunned & shocked that her knees were getting weak~ & can u believe her date didn't want his tourbook?!?!?!?!?!?! :shrug: :eek: :shrug: ~ it is framed hanging on my wall :thumbsup: :] :thumbsup: , he he, THANX JEAN!!!~ so 4 her the pkg paid off i'd say~ but 4 me, we bought our tix of ebay 4 the sioux city show, 4, 125.00 ea~ they were 2nd row in front of stevie, but i was allowed 2 stand right in front of stevie all nite, no there was no backstage tour 4 me @ this show, i honestly think they didn't have 1 @ that show, or if they did, no 1 bought any, there was nobody wearing the shirts they give u or more importantly the laminate thingy u get, we seemed 2 have the best seats in the house & every1 kept coming over & talking w/ us & saying we were the luckiest people in the world (still not sure what that was all about :confused: LOL)~ our section got the most fan interaction it seemed from both lindsey & stevie~ some have had gr8 experiences w/ than pkgs, but i have read some discouraging stuff about some of the others experiences & i was sad 4 them~ we got 2 shake stevie's hand that nite, that 2 me is priceless, didn't have 2 buy the pkg 4 that~ have a groovy day :woohoo: every1!!!~

I have never done the tour but I met a couple that did. They got their shirts and tourbooks at the show. They did not meet the band, in fact they had to clear out from backstage when the band arrived. They got to walk up on the stage and get their photos taken with Stevie's mic and tambos.

I considered doing the platinum package for AC as well but ended up getting a front row ticket from a broker for much less than $500. Unfortunately, all the front row broker seats have now been sold. I was worried about the row 1-5 guarantee. There is a huge difference between fifth row and first row to me and if I ended up paying all that money for a fifth row seat, I would be very unhappy. However, I am sure the platinum package will be alot of fun. I am sure you will have a great time standing at STevie's mic and checking out all her tambos, Lindsey's guitars, etc, etc. Enjoy the show!

I bought 2 platinum packages on this tour. I one got for Madison because it was on my birthday. I got 3rd row for that show and was not too happy with that. I ended up getting a front row ticket from a broker for less then the platinum package but not too much less expensive but at least I did have front row. I sold the 3rd row ticket and kept the package because I figured that it was my birthday.

When we were all set to take a tour of the backstage area Mick's limo pulled up and he got out and shook everyone's hand. The tour was OK. We did all get a copy of the set list which was nice since it was the first show of 2004 USA. The best part was standing on stage. Brett Tuggle and Taku were already there. They were getting ready for sound check so I did not bother them. I stood in front of Lindsey mic. ;) We then we escorted off the stage to the far right end of the arena. From there we got to see the band do a bit of soundcheck. Stevie had the rollers in her hair. You needed binoculars to see however. We had photos taken in front of Mick's drums. They did not let us take any pics at that time however. We were given our tour books at the end of the tour.


The other package was for Mansfield, MA. This is what was actually you could call my home area show. I knew how hard it was to get good seats there and how much $ the brokers would want. I found out about a week before the show that my seat was located on front row! Mind you I had to call Fanfire many times to find out. :shocked:

On this tour they let us take photos only that it HAD to be ON stage. Guess what I wanted to take pics of and was NOT on stage? Lindsey's guitars. :( I went as close as I could get to them to take a pic but it came out awful.

Steve Rinkov was behind the drums so I took a pic. The file is too big to post that one.

I took a pic of John's bass guitars but it came out very blurry because I moved.


I also took a pic of Lindsey's foot pedals. :laugh:

We got our tour books at the end of the tour.
Our shirts came in the mail. For Madison the pass came in the mail for Mansfield we got them from the tour guide named John.

My seat for Mansfield was located right between Stevie and Lindsey. I would have liked to be in front of LB but security at that venue would only let us stand in front of our seats. We could not even go up to the stage from our seats. I really lucked out at that show. I really could have not asked for a better seat. The best part was that I got to touch Stevie's hand. :blob2:

a Platinum package for the FM tour but I am considering purchasing the "Platinum package" for Dream Theater's tour (Through the same company that presented the FM package).

The DT "Platinum package", for $275 includes tickets within the first 5 rows, A limited edition VIP credential & limited edition T-shirt, Attendance to the soundcheck, Backstage passes & tour...But it also includes a meet & greet/autograph session with DT along with your photo taken with the members of DT.

Brian that sounds like a really good deal. Too bad FM could not have done all that for that same amount of money. :confused:

The whole "meet & greet/autograph session" thing was postulated by the original fan club run by Jonathan Todd. The only problem is the band knew nothing about it and wanted nothing to do with it when they DID hear about it. Yep, it sucked. And that was for the tidy sum of $1000 +.

You can't "buy" Fleetwood Mac. :o

I think to charge 500.00 for a ticket , an autographed tourbook, a t shirt, and tour of backstage without a meet and greet is nothing but a rip off. You can get a 5th row ticket or better from Ticket master for face value, you can get an autograph for free, if you are in the right place at the right time (Im sorry, I'm just not one to buy an autograph, I like to see my autograph be signed right infront of me. however, I am not questioning the authenticity of the autographs, Im sure in these cases the band is at least doing the signing) a tour of backstage with out the band, is to me worthless and lame. So you can see lindseys guitars and stevies Tambourine on a bare stage, hell if you wait for the concert to start and skip the back stage tour, you can see those same instruments actually being play by stevie and lindsey and if you get to to the venue early, you can see the bare stage before they come out for free. The fan club moaned about ppl scalping tickets, but they are guilty of scalping themselves. I think the ppl who were lucky to see the band sign the tourbooks backstage were simply lucky, and im happy for them, but that was probably just because they were not signed ahead of time, again luck and right place at the right time. the plat. pkg. is nothing different than paying a scalper a high price for a great seat. And with a scalper you expect that. As members of the club you should of been promised these benefits as part of your membership. Im at least glad that most of the ppl this time got better tickets, in general.

Hey Jill. Don't mean to burst your bubble, but I was at Holmdel and we didn't see or get anything signed by the band. The tour books were indeed signed when we arrived. At first I thought maybe you had the wrong venue, but I did see you posted the backstage pics, so I know it was Holmdel. The only people who showed up while security was having us leave were the members of the backup band. We did get to say hello to Sharon, and Carlos and the rest of them, but that was it. No one from the Mac actually arrived until about a half hour later.

As far as the tour. It was pretty cool. John Iverson was a great guy. Very nice. We did get to go into the small "dressing tents" on the stage. Stevie's had a large rubbermaid container of stuffed animals, and the set list was taped to the mirror. In the other dressing tent there was a bowl of banannas and a box of gas-ex! The seats were very good. 2nd row, which is the best I've ever gotten, but there were 2 people in front of us (if you look at the photos it's the young kid with the baseball cap, and the woman he's with) who showed up right before the show and got front row. They didn't know each other or anything, just both got lucky. I guess I've heard that a lot, that if you only need one ticket usually you can do really well right before the show. Anyway, I think it was cool to do it once, but I wouldn't do it again for that $$

1 Autographed Heart tour jacket (for top bidder in each auction)

Orchestra tickets for FM in Vegas last year were $500 not including anything. This Heart package for Vegas last weekend went for $600. I would have paid that for 2 tickets and the tour jacket. Also, the offer spells out 2 meetings with Ann and Nancy, not just a backstage tour of road cases and tambo ribbons. Not to be a griper all the time, but FM could have seen to it their fan club people were treated better if they'd wanted to. I still think the fan club is mostly Mick's baby and the others don't want much to do with it. JMO.
