Lindsey & Kim Carnes

I'm still a big fan of Kim Carnes. I didn't know how many ledgies here knew he played guitar and sang on the Kim Carnes song "Begging For Favors." The song rocks and their two voices together sound sublime!

Does anyone know of any other rare songs that Lindsey played and sang on?

Check it out!

http://www.buckinghamnicks.net/ from sodascouts is a good resource for Lindsey appearances on other songs.

Rod A Little, I LOVED Kim Carnes' "Begging For Favors (Learning How Things Work)" from the 1980's. Wasn't that from her album "Barking At Airplanes"? It had some fantastic songs on it, including "He Makes the Sun Rise (Orpheus)".

"Barking At Airplanes" was released in 1985, right after Lindsey's breakup with Carol Ann Harris. Could Lindsey and Kim Carnes have been dating?

Lindsey also co-wrote Belinda Carlisle's song "Since You've Gone" from her 1986 solo album "Belinda".

WatchChain, yes it was from her album Barking At Airplanes. I found it on vinyl the other day and was reminded just how great the album really is. Lots of great songs like Orpheus (He Makes the Sun Rise) as you mentioned, One Kiss, and the gorgeous Bon Voyage and the haunting Oliver (Voice on the Radio). I really felt like people never gave her much of a break after the uber hit Bette Davis Eyes. I believe she lives here in Nashville. It would be nice to run into her.

You brought up a good point. They very well could have been dating secretly. (just like I wonder about him and Christine McVie)

Thanks for the great reply WatchChain.

I don't remember the source, but I had heard that Lindsey sang un-credited vocals on "Crazy in the Night" (along with Waddy Wachel) also from the Barking at Airplanes album.

Thanks Rudie! My site uses frames (it's SOOO old) and so I thought I would provide a direct link to the info, although it does screw up the formatting: http://www.buckinghamnicks.net/lb/lblyrics.html#other

Man, frames were a mistake. Ah well! We used to think they were hot stuff!

Barking At Airplanes was, and still is, my favorite KC album, with "Begging For Favors" being my favorite track! I SO wanted Lindsey to produce a full album for Kim after that!
(And, no.....they never dated.....Kim has been happily married to Dave for almost 50 years!).
