Love Will Find A Way by Yes

Did you know that this song was actually written for Stevie?

glitter_fades 05-30-2003 10:32 AM

No! Wow! I love them. I can't believe I never heard this. Please explain!!!

gldstwmn 05-30-2003 10:34 AM

It was? What's the story?

Trevor Rabin (the guitarist at the time and the one who wrote the song) said it was for Stevie and she was going to record it. She asked if she could change some of the lyrics and he said that was fine. While they were sorting through demos and tracks for their Big Generator album drummer Alan White heard the demo version of the song and loved it and said that Yes had to record it so they decided to do it themselves.

Trevor than said that whenever he see's Stevie she jokes with him saying "I still sing my own lyrics" when she hears the song.

Anyway I figure if she DID record it, it would have probably gone on her Rock A Little album since that was around 86 I think.

Oh, Also I got this bit of info from the Yes video collection, so I have this little interview on video. If I can get it on my computer somehow I can upload to maybe her website or something if they want it.

I can't believe I never mentioned this before myself since I've had that video tape for over 10 years!!

LOL. From what I've read about Yes there really weren;t any reports of heavy drug use.

Really? Wow, I love YES so that's really interesting to read and know about. Thanks!

ewwgh. Yes. now there's a band that should have thrown in the towel 20 years ago. After Fragile, I left them behind somewhere in the shag rug of my teenage bedroom.

You have a point. I see them as just another band guitly of so many lineup changes nobody can keep em straight. I'm more into the classic lineup of John, Chris, Steve, Rick and Alan. They've had other good people, too, and their album art was always a trip.
