Summertime, and All I Want to Hear Are Christine McVie Songs with "Me" in the Title

Especially if such songs involve harmonizing with Lindsey Buckingham.

The trio of McVie compositions-with-Buckingham-harmonies-and-me-in-the-title that have been on perma-repeat since last week's stretch of sunny hotness:

1975's "Say You Love Me," 1979's "Think About Me" (the only YouTube clip I found was an unflattering live recording, so find it on iTunes if you want to hear it), and, below, 1982's "Hold Me."

christine was the heart and soul of that incarnation of the band. oh, daddy!

I'm by no means a fan of Fleetwood Mac, but I have a soft spot for McVie's 'Prove Your Love' from 'Heroes are Hard to Find'. It could easily pass as a song with 'me' if you elongate the title to 'Prove Your Love to Me'.

Also: Mick Fleetwood's drumming on the studio version of "Think About Me" (my favorite Christine McVie song) is amazing.

Sounding happier at 60 than many male rockers, she delivers third solo album

Christine McVie is not in the business of pushing envelopes. And if the songs here sound like anagrams of others her pure, woody tones have crooned down the years, then that's to be expected. On the other hand, just because she was one of the architects of a particularly popular strain of pop doesn't mean she's duty bound to pursue it forever. Maybe she'll get around to other styles eventually. In the meantime, as one song has it: "Easy come, easy go, that's just the way it is." She's in fine voice, sounds like she's having a good time, and if her contributions to Fleetwood Mac are your favourites, you should investigate.

Easy Come Easy go is my least favorite....

There's also Spare Me a Little, Remember Me, Show Me a Smile, Believe Me, Did you Ever Love Me, Never Make Me Cry, Save Me, and probably others...

"Me"is favored in many of her song titles, but just count how many times "around" and "down" appear in her verses. Years ago I made a tape that featured just all those snippets from her songs and sent it to a friend. He called me and said he got depressed when he heard it!:laugh:

For example:

You're lifting me up, never let me down
And I smile whenever you're around

I don't hold you down
So maybe that's why you're around

Um, if you still have that tape around... :lol:

That's awesome.

I think she uses the word "darling" quite a lot especially on ITM
