Harry Styles covers The Chain

Watch: Harry Styles covered Fleetwood Mac's 'The Chain' for BBC Radio 1 and blew the doors off it
He already has the seal of approval from Stevie Nicks and now he's tackling another Fleetwood Mac classic and nailing it.

Harry Styles dropped into BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge for a visit today and in between performances of his own songs 'Two Ghosts' and 'Sign Of The Times', Styles and his band gave 'The Chain' a belt and then some.

Speaking about his reasons for choosing the song, Styles said: "[It's] a risky one. We're doing The Chain by Fleetwood Mac. I'm just such a massive fan of them as a band and of the music. I feel like everyone in the band sings and it kind of felt like something we could cover vocally so we should try it and then we really loved it. I think it's 1977 on The Grey Whistle [Test] - I think it was played on there first - so I'm glad it's within the [50 year] time."

You can watch Styles' take on 'The Chain' below.

I thought that was a damned good effort. Harry Styles was decent, but the band played really well. Good job!

I enjoyed it as well, the guitarist didn't make a bad impression in Lindsey's place.

Definitely a solid performance. The Chain is such a group song, I wasn't sure how it would sound by one singer, but the whole band did the song justice. Great job by the female backup singer, too.

An intriguing backing track for sure. The guitar work was especially good. The vocal was merely attractive in a bland kind of way. I'm a Harry fan, but he didn't really pull this off for me. Maybe if the counterpoint/descant was sung by a woman with a more unusual voice. The Christine-Stevie-Lindsey vocal blend is so distinctive that it's hard to surpass or equal it.

Apparently Harry Style's not the only one to have covered FM recently:

Lake Street Dive’s Rachael Price Joins Vulfpeck for Fleetwood Mac Cover in Brooklyn

Vulfpeck closed out their three-night run at the newly opened Brooklyn Steel with the help of Lake Street Dive vocalist Rachael Price, who emerged for Fleetwood Mac's "Say You Love Me" towards the end of the band's show.

"Nothing like coming off the road and your favorite band inviting you to come sing a Fleetwood Mac song with them," Price wrote on Instagram. "I love New York. I love Vulfpeck."

Whoa that Rachel Price and Vulfpeck cover was better than Harry's. Good one!

Harry's made me want to re-watch Florence Welch's cover from Glastonbury 2010. Check it out if you haven't seen it, I think it's one of the very best.

Thanks for posting.

Also Paramore lately have included a cover of Everywhere on their tour:

Nothing against Harry, but there's nothing exciting about this performance really. I don't think I've ever seen anyone blow the doors off The Chain other than the band.
