If There Had Been an Album Between Mirage and Tango...

What songs would you include, only using songs from Christine's '84 album, Go Insane and Rock a Little. Title of the album as well.

Here's mine:

I still called it "Rock a Little:"

1) Got a Hold on Me
2) I Want You
3) Sister Honey
4) Slow Dancing
5) Ask Anybody
6) If I Were You
7) Loving Cup
8) Keeping Secrets
9) I Can't Wait
10) Go Insane
11) Who's Dreaming This Dream
12) Bang the Drum

I tried to keep a balance between the three singers and limited it to 12 songs. These were the songs I thought were the most "Mac like" and had a fair amount of harmonizing. I placed the songs in this order on my IPod and let it play. It hangs together really well actually.

You called in "Rock A Little" but didn't include the actual track on the record? Interesting.

I noticed that, too. However, there is not tracked called Mirage, or Rumours. So it's legal. :p

But those album titles were not based on song titles. There is a song called "Rock a Little". Now there is precedent for it, just not with FM. Led Zeppelin released House of the Holy the album and then the song was released on the next album. Queen released Sheer Heart Attack album and then the song a few albums later.

Rolling Stone: How did you come up with the album name?
Christine: Well we used a title of one of Shtevie's song's. The album was quite the rocker but we agreed that the song didn't fit quite well. So we sort of pillaged the title.

Since this is hypothetical anyway, I can make up whatever I want! ;)

You, sir (assuming you are a sir), are a genius! That was my exact reasoning.

I wish there was an album between Mirage and tango. It should have been released in 1984 or 1985 and it should have sold like 5 million+ copies.

I would love to hear more 80s Fleetwood Mac and I like even numbers. Six albums from this lineup would have been great. And Lindsey should have done the Tango tour, those videos on YouTube would be so much better with Lindsey, the other two dudes just don't do it for me.

Mirage sold 2 million and Tango sold 3 million. I doubt the one in between would've sold 5 million.

I agree. But, I will say they were so heavily promoted by MTV, HBO and Warner during the 80's. If you tried to avoid FM or their solo stuff, it was quite hard.

Mirage was a #1 Album and Tango wasn't Yet Tango sold more. I always found that interesting. I also felt that Tango got so much airplay.

They played the crap out of Little Lies and Everywhere.. It was truly Everywhere.

Tango actually sold 12 million worldwide though.Far more than any other Fleetwood Mac studio album aside from Rumours.

That's true, but I'm assuming the person I was responding to was referring to US sales. otherwise 5 million seems like a low number to shoot for. It's not bad, but also not exceptional.
