Night watch and The Eagles outlaw man

These songs both came out in 1973 and I just heard outlaw man for the first time. Have heard Night watch about a hundred times tho and I couldn’t help but notice how similar these songs sound with that moan that gets repeated almost the same way. My question is which came first and did the first one inspire the other or is it all just a coincidence.

The Penguin album was finished three months before the Eagles' Desperado came out therefore I think we can safely say no.

Interesting comparison though. Don't forget Outlaw Man was a cover of a song by Greenwich Village obscuro David Blue who was a friend of Bob Dylan.
