Tango in the Night Tour - Opening Night in Kansas City, MO 9/30/1987
Acquired this show recently and wanted to share. It's definitely not the best quality, but it's a special show in Mac history being the first with Billy & Rick. Enjoy!

VERY interesting. It's weird seeing how "Oh Well" was fairly straight-up early in the tour. I wonder when they started getting really crazy with it.

I really like the diversity of the set list during this tour, and how they really balanced the equation:
7 songs from Christine 7 songs from Stevie 6 other songs - 3 Blues era - 2Rumours era - 1 Buckingham Nicks). Take note: No Landslide and no riots over it's omission. This proves it can be done! I'll have to check my bootlegs later, but did the set list change as the tour proceeded? Did they eventually add Everywhere to the set? This tour was the first to include support players, including Stevie's solo background singers. Also the first to include Stand Back and Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You. It set a precedent that continues to this day. I'm still really not crazy with her solo material mixing with the band material. I believe in the separation of church and state. She had plenty of other Fleetwood Mac songs she could have chosen. Also, Frozen Love or Crying In the Night would have been great with Billy and Rick. |
They changed set list very much... they add Everywhere, Stop Messin' Around. And Gypsy and Rhiannon were played only few times. And Don´t Let Me Down Again or Sara were sometimes played too.

Thank you. This tape reminds me when I received tapes from people that were selling concert boot videos in the goldmine mag about 17 years ago.Probably between $15 to $45 dollars.Yes some were blurry.shaky, muddy sound and some were great too.
I agree .great setlist Got the old mix with the new. |

Huh? You contradicted yourself right there in the space of one paragraph. From "not crazy with her solo material mixing with band material"; but then it's ok if Buckingham Nicks material IS included...without Buckingham being in the band? THat really doesn't make sense. |
Thanks so much for posting these. Time flies so fast. It was a great set list and it makes me miss "crazy"Stevie and miss Christine. :D

While Billy did a great job on "Don't Let Me Down Again", I'd rather have had "It Ain't Over" in the set. It was one of HIS songs (novel concept), Christine and Mick were on the original, and it was a perfect fit for the tone of the tour. |
This tour is when "Stand Back" got into the FM setlist.Am I right.
