24Kt DVD not available till Jan 15 (Blu-Ray only?)

Shouldn't they have rolled this out before Xmas to squeeze out a few extra sales?? And is offering it as Blu-Ray only a good choice? (I honestly don't know as I haven't bought a DVD for ages and never owned a Blu-Ray player.) It just seems limiting for a release that already hasn't exactly made a big splash!

She probably made a deal with PBS that they'd get exclusivity until January 15.
Let those Christmas donations to PBS come over the phone while watching the program!

I pre-ordered it and got an email last week saying it wouldn't be released until February. I'm not sure why the date was change.

DVD is also available, but it's part of a CD/DVD bundle.

This is how I felt when it first came to movie theaters in a pandemic and was then offered only on demand instead of streaming or for download purchase. Unfortunately, it is almost like they are trying to make it inaccessible!

Did anyone here see it at a drive in or an exhibition space?

It's been said before that Stevie was firmly against going out for entertainment during the pandemic, yet the film was released to indoor theaters that weren't doing proper distancing. Of course, people can choose whether or not to go.

The stream thing was really weird. It streamed the week after theatrical release. No management skills by "the powers that be"

Yeah the whole situation makes me sort of sad because it seems like Stevie was pretty proud of this project and I'm sure had high hopes for it. Also it seems to have got rave reviews yet it just sort of tanked.

So is this the concert(s) I’m watching now on sky art...
From 2017, Indianapolis and Pittsburg...?

I didn’t even know it was on until she’d sang her opening song. Gold and Braid.
I’ve googled, and yes it is...

That's cool! Did it mention anything about a DVD being released or a CD, CD/DVD?

I haven't been able to find it on TV in the United States.

No, sorry no mention...I enjoyed it, especially as it was just me flicking through channels, when behold...I thought she was very good.
As an added bonus...Fleetwood Mac Live in Boston followed..

That's great; I'm glad you landed on it! It's a nice show especially when it's free on your tv! Did you catch the little vocal adjustment made during Stand Back? I'm actually glad they redid it while Stevie was in Chicago last year.

So I’ll record it then....

Listen to the big "Take Me Home" note towards the end of the song. It's added in. Sounds awesome.

TheWildHeart67 01-04-2021 11:43 PM

That isn't Stevie singing the "taaaaake me home," part at the end of "Stand Back " it's Sharon Celani. Listen carefully and you hear Stevie singing the lower note.
Regarding the home release, millions more DVD players have been sold compared to Blu-ray players sold.
Releasing this only on Blu-ray is unwise imo.
I don't want a Blu-ray player. I cannot fi d any information on it being released to purchase from VUDU, Google Play, iTunes or any other digital platform services either.
WTF

whitesoxx 01-05-2021 03:48 AM

It's coming out on blu-ray as well as 2cd/dvd.

Why people still buy dvd over the vastly superior blu-ray format is beyond me by the way.
