OSOTM Album Preview 1989

I remember listening to this live. I don't know why but only part 2 is on youtube. If you have not heard this before, Stevie explains Ghosts as similar to the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future. Fire Burning is literally her house is on fire and what can she take to still survive the fire (jewelry, the dog, and her tapes).
Interesting that one caller states he wrote Stevie when she was in Betty Ford and she wrote him back.

Conventional safety practice is to drop everything and run in a fire. She was risking her life by rooting through her stuff picking out when she wanted to save. Dog, yes. Notebooks and tapes, well I guess that's her livelihood but still, dangerous. Cashmere blanket, LEAVE IT. Haha.

I thought you were supposed to STOP, DROP, and ROLL. That could have been the name of her next album.
You have to laugh when the interviewer says that Fire is usually a symbol of something else in a song. Rarely if ever does a song about fire have a literal meaning.

She was probably just playing musical chairs LOL

Thanks! I just listened to her 1991 Nicky Horne interview today. What a show!

Interesting that she announces FM will be doing a blues album, with her participation, in response to a listener asking her to confirm such a rumor.

I feel like I remember Mick himself was pushing the idea. Stevie said "absolutely" with a little smile/laugh in her voice though, to me it sounded like she wasn't really going to commit to it.

I wonder if 'Debbie' has ever surfaced on fan boards, she's the one who called in and told Stevie she has a loyal fan base.
