I think it's a miracle that Sears has survived as long as it has. It surely should have gone the way of Montgomery Ward; it has never been a great place to shop (at least in the last forty years). Sure, I've bought appliances there. But that was the only thing they were good at- Kenmore appliances. Oh, and Craftsman tools. Nowadays, they source all of their other products from the same (Chinese-made) factories/brands as Target and Walmart, yet the prices are not good for what you get. And time after time they have gone wrong where Target got it right. Sears branded products, even their so-called "collaborations" (um, Ty Pennington? Really??) these days are so uninspired and middling that they've allowed more innovative mass retailers to take their market share; they really should have been what Walmart has become.

KMart is another old relic that has long outlived its usefulness. Rather than catering to its base, the bargain "blue light" shopper, it tried to re-brand itself (unsuccessfully) several times and ended up losing most of their customers to Wally world. You would have thought the merger of Sears and KMart would have leveraged each of their respective strengths- good appliances and hardware along with bargains galore- but instead it's only magnified their weaknesses- Sears' uncompetitive pricing and KMart's bland, poor quality product selection. They even got rid of the KMart restaurants- perhaps the only incentive for a kid to gamely tag along on a bargain expedition through those harshly-lit, cluttered aisles. KMart has never been a "cool" place to shop, especially for clothes, but it used to have a quirky, homely charm; you almost shopped there because you felt sorry for them. R.I.P. KMart.

I couldn't agree more. And man, did I LOVE those silly Kmart restaurants when I was a kid! :p

For discussions not really related to Fleetwood Mac.

WTF is going on???

It must be all about that book: The Complete Works of Stevie Nicks that everyone wants to know about.

I wasn't out there but snapped this from the beach webcam earlier. A sunny but cool day today but supposed to warm back up again. If it dips in the 60's I'm freezing now. I guess it's not a bad winter day by any means...

I think you're looking at the grassy sand dunes. But I know what you mean sometimes when the tide washes in and makes huge pool puddles along the shore. Kids love that and so do I :)

Still alive and battling major depression again. Tried to stay positive when I was laidoff from my new job (lack of business) but after being rejected time and again jobwise, I have sunk back to square one. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

Hi, I am with you...and I know all too much about pain and the feelings that a lot don't have because their synapses and seritonin and all is firing in generic sync. I, as a young adult was mis diagnosed...again, and again...causing many setbacks. I finally had to go inpatient...and I was there for quite a bit...where all doctors before were Prozac, zoloft, Thorazineing me out...they were making me worse. They were treating the side of me that got me into their office. Not. Even knowing my. Normal manic side. And I am sure you know what anti depressants do to a rapid cycling bi polar/manic depressive does. Too often its meds thrown at a unit polar person...without much investigating. So I made this part of my work and mission. Don't pigeon hole everybody into a category or a label...

Has anyone looked and listened to you for a while to see any other behaviors?

Deadly results occur with TV ads diagnosing people...and doctors that are no specialists in human behaviors are writing scripts that they really aren't qualified to write as treatment for a patient...its out of their league...
and the stigma that uneducated people place on you.

I hope this might help...and if you have any questions I might be able to answer...or at least suggest where to start looking...let me know...

Life is a gift...and shouldn't be painful for anyone.
