Nice cup of tea and a sit down

I found this site a few weeks ago when I was trying to find a picture of a cup of tea for a Christine collage.

I thought I'd share it with you.

I hope Christine reads this board because she'd love it!

2006 - The Year of Custard!

What a fantastic site - terribly British

I found myself reading about obscure, tasteless throwback biscuits that time forgot. Who buys Lincoln biscuits?

There's nothing better than English pudding/custard. American style is too gloppy & sweet. My market, Ralph's, used to carry English custard mix, but no more. I'm seriously displeased.

That's a cool website. There's even a page for Hobnobs.

Where is your Ralph's... Mine is Ventura and Hayvenhurst Blvd.

That stuff sounds delicious!

"Our Mission Statement
Well I think we should all sit down and have a nice cup of tea, and some biscuits, nice ones mind you. Oh and some cake would be nice as well. Lovely."

I remember reading somewhere that some American (Bill Bryson?) said England was the only place in the world where when we are brought something to eat or drink (cup of tea and a biscuit?) we say "Ooh lovely"

This actually has bugger all to do with Christine but it is very funny.

Great Mission statement or what?

Does she really read this board?

You hope she reads this board. But does anyone know if she really does? She has said in an interview that she hates to type and only occasionally reads (or was it sends?) email. So I doubt she spends time with message boards. But maybe I'm wrong?

I very much doubt whether she looks at this board.

I was reading in a sunday paper how famous people "lurk" on message boards. Apparently JK Rowling reads them to see what fans really think about her books!

So maybe Christine does as well.

If your're reading this Christine - it's about time for a nice cup of tea and sit down! (with a chocolate hobnob)

I hope that she cares what we think about her(and knows that we love her, of course).
C'mon Christine, take a quick walk down memory lane with us. Jeremy Spencer just recently showed up to do that. Come join our little soiree.

Can you imagine if she'd pop in here(like Jeremy) in this forum(her forum)? That would be surreal, to say the least.:D

She has seen this website. She even e-mailed Marty & Lis to compliment them on the site. About 6 years ago, George Hawkins did a Q & A here. About midway through the Q & A, he got a telephone call from Chris. I'll bet she saw or heard about the Q & A and decided to give George a call.

So, Christine if you happen to check out this forum, don't be afraid to pop in sometime.:)

That would be amazing, wouldn't it? Maybe she does peek at it from time to time. I always think maybe Dan or someone more 'into computers' might let her know every now and then what's going on.

Lis's fantasy conversation:

Dan: 'hey, did you know John's answering some questions over at that penguin website?'
Chris: (nibbling a Honnob) 'oh yeah? where, lemme see.'

aahh too funny LOL. but not beyond the realm of possibility? I'd think that reading Q&A's from thier former associates/friends etc might be really interesting for them, to get those people's true feelings on stuff they all experienced.

when she e-mailed us back in 1999, her typing was indicative of one who doesn't spend much time at a computer keyboard LOL. But then again when John 1st wrote he used to type in all capitals LIKE THIS... and as for on line abbreviations, I recall him asking something completely adorable like 'By the way, what does BTW mean?'

I believe she or someone close to her does check in from time to time. It's just too much of a coincidence that she would just happen to call George Hawkins at the exact time he was doing a Q & A here.

Hasn't she got another younger nephew, in his teens? I bet he'd be prepared to help out his aged Aunt.

Leo: Aunty Chris come and see what they're saying about you on this site!
Chris: Ooh f*c*in' marvellous innit? (Mouth like a sewer) I love this interweb!
