New PG live DVD?

I saw on Neil's board someone found out a firm called ILC is putting out a live PG DVD of some kind in August. Anyone know anything further about this?

I wonder if it will be released on both region 1 AND 2?

I've tried to find ILC's website but was not successful in my search so please do post about it here if you know anything else about this release. Thanks in advance. :)

Hello John.
According to the PGSG website a new Dvd will be out in September.

They recorded it during the "Reaching The Cold 100" tour in Basingstoke.

Hope you will be happy with this.

Mario.

Well, I'm THRILLED the PGSG are putting out a live DVD :) but I just have not been able to find any information about if this DVD will be released in the US on region 1 (perhaps by Blue Storm or someone?).

The release date is secondary to me right now, the main thing I want to find out is if it will come out on region 1 as my DVD player only plays region 1 discs so if you hear anything about a stateside region 1 release on this then please do post about it here.

Thanks Mario. :)

Thank you people for the info. I have been a PG fan forever it seems like and am looking forward to getting this DVD. I'm understanding it will be available in the UK in August and the states in September? Hope I have it straight.

According to Arnie Goodman at Blue Storm, the DVD will be out in the US at the end of Aug. (so I guess Aug. for both US & UK?) but it's not going up on the Blue Storm site until late July since they don't have an exact release date in the US for it yet apparently. He also says that the DVD "isn't finished yet" but that sounds kind of strange to me as the cover has already been put on the web by someone (Neil?) and it sounds like ILC (who are putting it out in the UK) are on top of their end of it so I don't see what the delay is with Blue Storm's side of it and it seems odd that they'd do the cover when the disc itself has not even been done yet as you 'd think they may call for many changes to the cover if the disc "ends differently" to what they thought it would for marketing purposes etc. but oh well, at least it will be available at the end of Aug. in the US so that's all that matters to me, hope that helps. :)

Thanks John and yes it helps loads as I was thinking a 'month' later for the US release. Now I can look forward to finding it earlier than I was expecting and will be bugging the people where I buy my music from until it arrives here.

You're welcome :) but do bear in mind that Arnie said the reason they won't be putting it on the Blue Storm site until the end of July is due to the fact that they said they don't have a confirmed actual release date yet so hopefully it will still be at the end of Aug and not be delayed. :)

OK John, I will keep that in mind while I wait impatiently for the release date to be announced. I was lucky enough to stumble upon Peter Green material around 1968 and have been a fan ever since. Any new news about him is greatly appreciated.

Peter has seemed to recover nicely...although it has taken a while!

(ok, "feeble attempt at humor")

US RELEASE DATE UPDATE

According to the August 2003 (issue number 197) ICE Magazine they list the new PGSG live DVD as "An evening with the Peter Green Splinter Group in concert" and as hitting the stores August 26, 2003. Oddly they have the "label" listed as "Eagle Vision".

Well Blue Storm or not, hope this helps. :)

NEW RELEASE DATE

ILC distribute all Eagle Vision (or Rock's) videos and dvds in the UK. Stevie Nicks Live At Red Rocks was another.

This is now coming out on September 22 in the UK.

Dunno about the States but I'd imagine it would be the same...

PG DVD out Sept 22

From the back of the DVD:

Filmed as part of their 2003 tour playing to packed houses across the UK and Germany, this DVD is the final piece of evidence, if it were ever needed, that Peter Green is back, and back for good.

Peter is captured in full flight on guitar (including some sensational slide work), harmonica and vocals (singing with equal measures of melancholy and mischievousness). Backed superbly by The Splinter Group, Peter and Nigel Watson effortlessly blend old blues classics with new original material and of course some great interpretations of Peter’s Fleetwood Mac catalogue.

The two hour plus show available on this DVD in 5.1 and DTS surround sound is split into two sets, the first intimate and acoustic, the second a storming electric blues workout, leaving no doubt that this comeback was well worth the wait.

ACOUSTIC SET:
Hitch Hiking Woman, Sweet Home Chicago, Dead Shrimp Blues, Can You Tell Me Why (aka Legal Fee Blues), Little Queen Of Spades, Hell Hound On My Trail, Albatross

ELECTRIC SET:
I Believe My Time Ain’t Long, Running After You, Little Red Rooster, Ain’t Nothing Gonna Change It, Shadow On My Door, Must Be A Fool, The Stumble, Cool Down, Man Of The World, Dangerous Man, Need Your Love So Bad, Real World, The Green Manalishi (With The Two Pronged Crown), Black Magic Woman, Look On Yonder Wall

BONUS FEATURES:
Interview, European Tour Film, Juke Box, Discography, Full video of Real World

Cool! 2+ hours huh? I think I saw somewhere the time on this listed as 147 minutes, I thought it was a typo, but that must've been right enough. Llooks like good extras too! WOW! Now THAT'S gettin' yer money's worth. :)

I just saw an ad for this DVD in the new "Goldmine" though it says "coming in Sept." so I hope this Aug 26th US release date is still on. Maybe they just mean "in Sept." because generic fans won't rush out to buy it the day it comes out? (like we do!) :)

John
