This is not Twitter, but Instagram.

There were several hours when some news outlets had reported that Tom had died and others were saying he had been falsely reported dead... No one knew which was true. I guess they could have just looked at his daughter's social media... A little unfair to single out Rolling Stone when I believe the false reports originated with the LAPD's (incorrect) statement. But how can you blame her, in her position?:distress:

So, what's the truth???? Did he die earlier Monday as initially reported and they were just trying to keep their privacy, which I can certainly understand? Or did he die that Monday night as later reported ?? As much anger as she felt, there's a time for a little diplomacy and that was not exhibited?? Its one thing to say this to friends and family, BUT to the whole world??

I guess it doesn't matter as he ultimately passed, BUT still, that was surely a shock n awe post from her. Heck, even "we" on the Ledge thought and believed earlier Monday that he had passed.

It's truly a shock to me that he is gone

Yeah me too. Having lived in Gainesberger for 8 years and having met him when he was with Mudcrutch at "Dubs" on 13th b/4 TPHB made it big in LA, it's very sad. He was a down to earth, just normal guy who happened to be a great musician and song writer. Lots of great musicians came out of Gainesville in the late 60s and early-mid 70s and TP was certainly part of that.
