Overall least favorite - Empire State and Only Over You. Just plain awful.

Worst Lyrics - It's gotta be a tossup between Can't Go Back and Eyes of the World: "A face as soft as a tear in a clown's eye" vs. "Monday's children are filled with face, Tuesday's children are filled with grace."

Should've been a hit single - Straight Back. It's very similar to Dreams in its appeal, but darker and more vocally intense.

Never understood the appeal of - Hold Me. Is that a cowbell or a woodblock? Either way, I'm not feeling it. Decent, catchy song but overrated and not nearly as strong as Love in Store.

Album could have been better if - Lindsey's definitely could have been better. I really love most of what Chris and Stevie did, though; Mirage is overlooked, IMO.

Much better performed live - Love in Store, I guess? I love the album version too, though.

Overall least favorite - Eyes of the World.

Yes, Mirage is really overlooked, it's one of my favorite Mac albums. I'm going to correct myself and say that i don't like Lindsey's songs, but his guitar contribution is impressive here. Straight Back, Hold Me, and Gypsy have three kick-ass solos. And not only are they awesome, but they also add some kind of magic to the songs. His guitar work is just perfect on this album.

Should've been a hit single - Hold Me & Gypsy are the only songs that sound radio friendly, and are the only ones which were hits anyway.

Have to agree with this apart from That's Alright. Boo to louie - :p! I knew you'd mention that one, haha. I LOVE it!

Album could have been better if - Lindsey brought better material to the table or had songs removed and replaced by Stevie's Smile At You and/or If You Were My Love.

Mirage is an interesting album for me. Stevie really delivers her A Game, and apart from one slip-up, Christine is on fire too. Lindsey shows some flashes of promise, I really love Empire State, Book of Love and Eyes Of The World, but his other songs are pretty lacklustre, and could have been swapped for stronger Stevie or Christine songs (Just my opinion!) The sequencing of the album irritates the hell outta me, as well.

After the astounding achievement of Oh Diane, Lindsey then spent the next five years crafting the Family Man lyrics.
