Hi Everyone,

As you may be aware, I am putting together a Peter Green Anthology, which is now due for release in September.

I'm looking for a fantastic quote to use on everything to do with the campaign, from packaging and promotion to advertising. It needs to sum up Peter in a nutshell and convey his significance today.

As an example, for our recent Slade reissue campaign we used a quote that said "Slade are the missing link between The Beatles and Oasis". I would love to get something similar about Peter.

If any of you have any ideas, please let me know, and if I end up using one of your quotes, there's a free box set in it for you.

"Less is more" is really the essence of his playing,
but that might not be so catchy for an ad campaign...
The BB King quote might be workable: ""He was the only man to ever make me sweat." If that makes sense...
Or "the man who was bigger than Beatles and Stones combined", haha.
Oh well, my 5 cents.

Perhaps the BB quote in the 3rd person:

"The only one who made BB King sweat"

Yeah, I thought some variation of that quote would be appropriate too. Can't get much higher praise than that!

The best mix between black and white is green.

The BB King quote seems perfect, but then again why not see if BB King can give you a quote now--40 years on.

Haha, maybe sweat isn't marketable these days?
Unlike the great majority of music...consumers,
everyone here knows Greeny's music very well.
So it's hard to come up with an insipid industry slogan,
like..."founder of Fleetwood Mac"..."composer of the Santana hit
Black Magic Woman"..."Noel Gallagher's favorite"... :o

You are right, Dino - it might be difficult to find something "marketable" that isn't beside the point. I don't think that Slade had anything to do with either The Beatles or Oasis (I am not going off topic and don't want a discussion). They are worlds apart. So it's only relevant because they happen to be placed within the same sentence.
