the lindseydemo's bin

Hi all,

Over the years I've heard alot of incredible lindseydemo's over here. But I never archived them. Lost them in crashes, or-mainly-just listened and not stacked them. Now I'm eager to collect and put them on harddisk and CD, to build a Lindsey-songpainting-book (sorry sortasavagelike) to dig deeper in his songbuildingstyle. So can you help me with putting up as much demo's (don't care how sketchy they are) as possible in this thread? It would be great if we could share and discuss them over here...

thanks in advance,

Gerald

I probably don't have as much as other people here, but I'll try to post what I can. Are you looking for them in mp3/wma/wav or does it not really matter?

Is that from the KCRW show? I like that one, but my favorite is the one he did on the air during the 1992 Rockline with Bob Coburn. There's something about that little throwaway performance that just sounds so perfect, so complete.

Okay, here goes. I initially wanted to put all the demos in one big file but then I figured some people might already have some tracks and would rather not download it all again. So that's why I am doing them all separately. No complaining!

Obviously some of these tracks are exactly the same as the ones that ended up on either album (SYW or UTS), for example Come and Murrow, or they are just sans Stevie, and I'm pretty sure Go Insane is taken from The Dance dvd, but I hate to break up a complete set, and this is how it has been traded around for years, so that's why it's here in its entirety.

It's my favorite also. I can die happy if it ever ends up on an album, but I really doubt it.

Is that Stevie on She Smiles Sweetly or is it Lindseys digitization of his voice? Im loving all these songs Ive never heard before. They really rock. A lot of them sound like classic 70's Rock and Roll guitar. These are really great!!

That's Lindsey's voice. Whether or not it was deliberately made to sound like Stevie... who knows. I do know that Stevie once said that if you speed up Lindsey's voice it sounds exactly like Stevie. That's how she knew what her songs were going to sound like on the album when she got back from the TISL tour, Lindsey used his own voice to sound like hers.

I can too, but someone asked Lindsey about it not long ago and he didn't even know what song this person was talking about.
