I've killed more snakes than you lately.

Let's see:

1. Moccasin hiding under a pot. "Death by hoe".

2. Moccasin near back door of house. "Death by stick".

3. Moccasin crossing over our driveway. "Death by Vehicle".

4. Chicken Snake, even though not poisonous, he was too close to my head. "Death by hoe".

5. Not sure on this one, possibly a Ground Rattler. "Death by mower".

Anyone top that?

Wow,I've been lucky so far,What part of the woods you live.My Mom ran over a snake ages ago with a lawnmower,it was diced up,About 18 years ago my ex-neigbor had a python in her apt above me,she gave me a chance to pet him, it was cool.

You win! Wow. I think you qualify for your own Discovery Channel or Animal Planet show.

How great of an increase is this over an average month/summer/etc?

Not allowed to kill them over in Australia, they are a protected species, even though most of them are poisonous. We are supposed to call the conservation people who send out the snake catcher!

Nope, can't even come close.

haha awesome!!
I grew up in the country, next to a corn field....
lets just say that a fair share of corn snakes had "accidents" that I may or may not have been involved in.
They slipped and fell on a hoe one or ten times.

I'm more of a spider killer myself.

this thread is making me hyperventilate.

My Grandmother on my Dad's side used to kill rattlesnakes with a shovel!
"Death by gutsy Grannie!"

If there was ever a time in my life when the word "sniggering" was appropriate, it would be right now.

:)

That's shocking. I'd move..

I once saw an elderly woman kill a snake in her front yard with a machete. It was... disturbing. ;)

That was Officially Funny.

Macfan, I do live close to the woods. Near a few swamps too.

Jenniferuk, My own Aninmal Planet show....lol, that's funny.
And is it an increase over normal? Yes. We've had more rain than usual
it's got them moving.

Golddustdrummer, "Spider Killer", you should see my other thread about that.

MylittleD, I can't move. I guess I'll live and die in Dixie.

We have a farm with a few ponds, so there's always snakes to be found. I've
even stepped on a few barefooted (don't that sound country?). You'll find that
you have super powers when you step on a snake. I used to hunt them when
we had the time. I don't like hunting animals, gave that up many moons ago.
Just felt like it was wrong, unless you were doing it for food. To this day, I have
no idea why anyone would want to hang a dead animals head on a wall. But snakes
are different. I don't go out of my way to find them anymore, but if I see one....
off with his head.

snakes seriously freak me out~ even the garter(*sp) ones that are totally harmless, one slithered over my foot in the yard & i fainted, scared this **** out of me~ i have snake nighmares too~

but i love to watch the animal planet show where this guy goes out trying to find anaconda's, my god are those things huge, their heads are bigger than mine~ now that's a snake & it's on tv, that is about as close as i can get to a snake:lol:~
