Stevie's twitter only has 50,000 followers while Michelle Branch has 297,000 and Imogen Heap has 2.03 Million but Stevie is steadily gaining followers since her account was "verified"

I've never taken the Twitter plunge, but am I correct in assuming that the format is rapidly on the decline? It seems it's almost solely used by celebrities & politicians as a way to disseminate information & connect with their bases & the media very quickly. I honestly don't know anyone who uses Twitter in a personal fashion anymore to communicate between friends & relatives/etc. It just seems like camp Stevie is finally embracing this form of social media when it's on it's way out.

I can't wait to see which pictures make it, I know some Ledgies who are all over this.

Louie, I don't think Twitter is on its way out, I own the stock and it was up almost one dollar a share today. It was volatile at the beginning of the year, but up all summer. I could be wrong, but I think more people are tweeting lately.

I posted a pic on instagram using that hashtag. Too bad there isn't a physical prize for best picture or something :p

I think there should be a page on "StevieNicksOfficial" where all the selected pictures will be posted similar to what the "NicksFix" used to have...They also could have a page where let's say the 20 best submissions for the Shawl contest could be posted...I'm hopping this new website will have more than just concert dates and links to buy her music...

I don't agree with you that it's on the decline and it depends on who you follow as to what type of information you get. For the tech and news industry, I believe Twitter is an indispensible source of information and crowd-sourcing. It alerts me to things that television news becomes aware of two beats (or days) later.

For instance, the night of the Wendy Davis filibuster, I never would have known what was happening if I hadn't been on Twitter. As we watched the clock count down to midnight together, I got chills. I've never experienced a legislative vote like that and I shared it with so many people because of Twitter.

Wow!!! They are actually following up on their promises...Still not quite used to Stevie's new media presence so it's still a bit of a shock when they post...

Same for the aviation industry and just what's going on in the world. I know what's happening pretty much in real time and well before the big corporate media outlets get ahold of it. By the time you see a story on the national news it's already many days old (and sometimes the story has already changed dramatically)
