Two new certifications to add to the already very long list!

• Fleetwood Mac - Dreams - Silver (200,000 digital copies).
• Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way - Gold (400,000 digital copies).

As I suspected, Dreams has been finally certified Silver but surprisingly, a Gold certification for GYOW which is fantastic!

So, for those of you who don't know what has been certified, I will list all of the certification in order of release date for album and single so everyone knows where things stand. I personally think that Rumours, Tusk,Greatest Hits, 25YTC, The Dance and TVBO need to be updated so we'll have to see whether that happens soon.

Anyway, here's the complete list of certifications for Fleetwood Mac in release date order, as of March 27th 2016:

An extremely impressive certified total of 11,010,000 copies in the UK for releases after 1975 ONLY. And there you go! :)

Hi, are there any estimations for sales of the 1971 Greatest Hits? I'm surprised it doesn't have any sort of certification. I always seem to see copies of it knocking around at car boot sales etc.

Well I know that pre-1973, the certification levels were different and so they don't show them on the database. Also, I can't seem to find anything that gives any clue as to how many copies the early era albums sold.

HOWEVER. I know that the self-titled 1968 Fleetwood Mac album sold many copies here. I have seen or heard somewhere that it's around a million so I suspect that all titles before 1975 have sold approximately 3 million copies, and that is NOT including singles so probably 5 million including singles as Albatross sold loads. :)

James can you tell us any solo project certifications?

Well only Stevie has had BPI certifications and her list is as follows:

The Wild Heart - Silver. 60,000 copies.
Rock a Little - Gold. 100,000 copies.
The Other Side of the Mirror - Gold. 100,000 copies. (sold over 200,000 copies).
Timespace - Gold. 100,000 copies.
Crystal Visions - Silver. 60,000 copies.

Well that's the list but I know that Bella Donna has sold at least 100,000 copies but for some reason was never certified. Also, I know that Trouble in Shangri-La has sold around 30,000 and I would say the same or probably more for In Your Dreams.

My prediction for her whole catalogue is as follows:

Bella Donna - 150,000.
The Wild Heart - 80,000.
Rock a Little - 120,000.
The Other Side of the Mirror - 220,000.
Timespace - 100,000.
Street Angel - 30,000.
Enchanted - N/A
Trouble in Shangri-La - 30,000.
Crystal Visions - 70,000.
Soundstage Sessions - 10,000.
In Your Dreams - 40,000.
24 Karat Gold - 20,000.

So in total I would say that Stevie has sold around 900,000 albums in the UK. An educated guess but I think it's fairly accurate. :)

Everywhere has just been certified Gold in the UK for digital sales in excess of 400,000.

This is great news and shows just how popular this song has become over the last few years. It largely stems from the Pony advert that was extremely popular back in 2013.

I would think they'd be flipped.

Well, it's an educated guess. I know that at the end of 1989, TOSOTM sold upwards of 190,000 copies. That's from a credible year-end source that I can no longer find but noted it down years ago. It debuted at #3 with really strong sales and is easily her best charting and possibly highest selling album here in the UK. Therefore I think around 220,000 is a fairly accurate assumption.

As for RAL, it was a very slow seller and only ever reached as high as #30 and spent a while at the lower end of the top 100. It was certified Gold here in the UK in February 1987 which shows how it took around 15 months to sell 100,000 copies. Therefore it is probable that it has sold around 120,000 possibly more but not a lot more as it was a very slow seller.

People outside the UK must not forget that TOSOTM was a considerable hit here in the UK and I remember seeing a publication from 1989 that showed that it was the best-selling album on CD format for a week. Her other albums sold very steadily but this album sold many copies in just one week. I think it sold around 100,000 copies in week one.

Yay! One of her crappiest albums sells the most copies. It's only because Tango In The Night was a phenomenon in Britain.

Yes, you're mostly right. TITN was a huge album here and that helped a lot but I have to say, it was largely because of Rooms on Fire as she went on 'Top of the Pops' and that show pretty much guaranteed you a UK top 40 hit. Also, I think it happens to be a fantastic song and single choice.

I've said this before but if Stevie had gone on TOTP back in 1981, 1983 and 1985 and had sung SDMHA, Stand Back or Talk to Me for the supporting albums, she would've sold many albums. That's just the way it worked back in the 80's.

In the US, yes. In the UK, no.

Great News! The Very Best of has just been certified 6xPlatinum in the U.K. for sales in excess of 1.8 million. I have to say, I never go into a store where they don't have a copy and it's clearly a huge seller here in the U.K.

New Certification. Little Lies has just been certified Silver in the U.K. for sales in excess of 200,000 copies.

This follows the Gold certifications of Everywhere and Go Your Own Way and the Silver certifications of Dreams and The Chain.

This means that in just over 2 years, Fleetwood Mac has gained over 1.4 million sales worth of single certifications which is fantastic!

You guys have record stores? I live in California, and wouldn't even begin to know where to go to find a record store.

On a recent visit to San Francisco, I discovered the best record store I've ever been to - Amoeba Records. with a huge selection of vinyl (both used and new), CDs, video (mostly DVDs and Blu-Ray with some VHS as well). They also have a location in LA.

I live in California as well and can steer you towards a record store and even book stores that aren't Barnes & Noble.

But when I first moved out here, Tower Records was so big on Ventura Blvd., that it had to open an annex across the street. It was a crazy and wonderful surplus of riches.

Go Your Own Way has gone Platinum for sales in excess of 600,000. This follows the Gold certification of The Chain back in June for selling in excess of 400,000. The Mac's catalogue is really selling strong and these certifications are coming thick and fast.

I was looking at their Wikipedia page to find this out, and it seems like a fan wrote it. Nonetheless, I liked that picture used from the tour on the page. Apparently, it means they sold at least 60,000 units in the UK.

Great question. I love that it charted on many charts top 10 and got mentioned as one of the best albums of the year. #36 I think. Great reviews. Did really well in the UK. Can't understand not doing a London show. uhhhh. So frustrating. They might have sold out about 10 shows in a smaller venue. Missed opportunity.

I can't think it would have sold much. But I'm eager for another round of BuckVie.
