Lyrics to Twist of Fate????

According to Itunes I have listened to this song 78 times and I still have no clue what he is saying in the chorus. "Wait for the right twist of fate?" "Fight for the right twist of fate?"

Anyone got the lyrics?

I took this off of BuckinghamNicks.net.

Twist of Fate

Written by L. Buckingham

I'm a little lost, let me find my way
I'm a little dead, let me live
Been living in the past, let me rise today
Led a selfish life, let me give

How long, how long, how long
How long we wait
Wait for the light that might light our way
Wait for the right twist of fate

You were living under the reign of kings
You were living under the gun
I know it made you do a lot of things
You wish that you'd never done

How long, how long, how long
We hesitate
Wait for the light that might light our way
Wait for the right twist of fate

Rah-ta-ta-ta-ta
Rah-ta-ta-ta-ta
Rah-ta-ta-ta-tah
Rah-ta-ta-ta-ta
Rah-ta-ta-ta-ta
Rah-ta-ta-ta-tah

Come along, lay down and talk to me
Tell me all your fear will allow
It doesn't matter who we thought we were
We ain't got time for it now

How long, how long, how long
How long we wait
Wait for the light that might light our way
Wait for the right twist of fate

I swear, I swear, I swear
It's not too late
Wait for the light that might light our way
Wait for the right twist of fate
Wait for the light that might light our way
Wait for the right twist of fate
Wait for the right twist of fate
Wait for the right twist of fate

How Long Low Long How Long
How Long We Wait

Wait for the light that might
light our way
Wait for the right
Twist of fate.

How Long Low Long How Long
How Long We Hesitate

Wait for the light that might
light our way
Wait for the right
Twist of fate.

I swear I swear I swear
Its Not to Late

Wait for the light that might
light our way
Wait for the right
Twist of fate.

Bom Bom Bom Ba Ba

Then ends on one of the most amazing solos he has ever done.

Hope that helps you sing along

To me, it sounds more like:

We were living under the reign of kings
We were living under the gun
I know we made you do a lot of things
You wish that you'd never done

I agree.

And that solo rocks partytime.

I swear, I swear, I swear

I'm quite sure that he also sometimes sings

"Wait for the light that might guide our way
Wait for the right twist of fate"

I always thought it was "Led a selfish life, now I wanna give."

okay, i've been listening to this phrase by phrase over and over tonight, and this is what i hear. i'm not saying it's right.. it's just what i hear. i've changed my mind on a few thoughts that i've already posted. i don't hear "we" anymore, and i don't think it's "guide" or "our way". this is what i'm hearing tonight:

i'm a little lost let me find my way
i'm a little dead let me live
been livin' in the past let me rise today
led a selfish live and i wanna give

how long, how long, how long
how long we wait
waitin' for the light that might light a way
waitin' for the right twist of fate

(correction to my earlier post, it sounds like "you" to me now.)
you were living under the reign of kings
you were living under the gun
i know we made you do a lot of things
you wish that you'd never done

how long, how long, how long
we hesitate
waitin' for the light that might light a way
waitin' for the right twist of fate

rah tah tah tah tah
rah tah tah tah tah
rah tah tah-uhh-uhh
rah tah tah tah tah
rah tah tah tah tah
rah tah tah-uhh-uhh

come along lay down and talk to me
tell me all your fear will allow
it doesn't matter who we thought we were
we ain't got time for it now

how long, how long, how long
how long we wait
waitin' for the light that might light a way
waitin' for the right twist of fate

i swear, i swear, i swear
it's not too late
waitin' for the light that might light a way
waitin' for the right twist of fate
waitin' for the light that might light a way
waitin' for the right twist of fate

waitin' for the right twist of fate
waitin' for the right twist of fate
ooh hoo hoo
ahh-hh-hh
ooh hoo hoo ... etc.

that being said, i do wish he would say "guide" instead of "light" a second time. that kind of irks me a bit, but i do still enjoy the song.

Thanks for transcribing these lyrics. As a non-native speaker, I've been trouble getting what he's saying on my rather lo-fi copy of Napsterized GOS songs.

I think it's amazing that we're able to discuss a song that must still be considered a work in progress, before it's actually finished. Here's some more hoping that the artist does finish it.

The song's got such wonderful melody lines that it would be really worth it.
And the solo is indeed killer.

I wonder whether the rah-tah or the bom bom ba scat singing parts have gotten real lyrics by now, but I love this song anyway.

I hear it exactly like this also, so at least you're not alone. ;)

Thanks for all your input guys! I thought there would be a little confusion. I must say this song is reaching into one of my favorite LB songs of all time.

Whatever it is, I love the song, and they need to do it if the Mac ever tours again, or atleast on Lindsey's solo tour.
