Rick Vito's first session?

Former Delaney & Bonnie "Friend" and one of Derek's "Dominos", Bobby Whitlock's first three solo albums are being re-released on CD here soon.

One Rick Vito appears on Bobby's first solo album Raw Velvet. (I seem to recall Rick mentioning that it was his first session)

Like I said in the Bluestown thread, I'll always defer to your knowledge, Chili -- you were there during those days -- and as for me, for some odd reason, I have a hard time remembering anything I was doing in the seventies. :o

Rick's website says his first session was Todd Rundgren's Something/Anything, but also work with Bobby Whitlock (and others):

Quote:

Moving to the Hollywood Hills in the summer of 1971, Rick did his first pro work on tour with Delaney & Bonnie. Soon after, he began to establish himself as a respected recording session player first appearing on Todd Rundgren's classic album, "SOMETHING ANYTHING". At this time Rick also worked with such artists as LITTLE RICHARD, BOBBY WHITLOCK, JOHN PRINE, and DOBIE GRAY among many others.
And it bears repeating that this came about because of Delaney and Bonnie, who heard Rick play on the east coast and convinced him to move to Southern Cal (at age 21, I think) and jump into the biz.

Great! I know Bobby was buiring CD-R's of these albums at his site a few years ago from his vinyl but It'll be great to have them get the proper treatment now. Any link for this so we know where to buy? (I mean, if fully fledged re-release Amazon, if more indie, CD Baby etc.)?

John
