Sad news. I loved Olivia. Fortunately I got the chance to see her in Vegas few years ago.

Just seen this. Such a shame.
She was a glamorous hot babe pretty much to the end.
One of the all time greats has gone.
RIP hun

Probably the biggest star in the USA from 1978 to 1982. She was already a successful singer but Grease made her a movie star and exploded her music career. Her next album after Grease was huge. Then came Xanadu which was not a successful movie but had several of her biggest hits. Then look out because in 1981 came Physical and her career got even bigger. In the days before MTV and way before the internet and social media, she was one of the massive stars of the late 70s early 80s.

One interesting tid bit about her biggest hit Physical was it was passed over by her because of the lyrics. It was offered to other artists who also turned it down because of its suggestive lyrics (for its time). It was re-offered to her again and she was convinced to do it but she had an idea to take to focus off the sexually suggestive lyrics. Make a video and make it about getting physical (working out)thus taking the focus off the sexual part. Pretty clever on her part and the song went to #1 for 9 weeks.

I was in 6th grade when the song came out and we had a yearly talent show at school. So many girls wanted to sign Physical but they did not let them because of the lyrics and because there would be too many contestants singing the same song. On the boy's side a kid wanted to sing Centerfold but the teacher would also not allow it.

She was a big star in the early 70's too. I think "Have You Ever Been Mellow," was a hit in 1974 or something like that. Plus I think she had a variety show at some point long before the Grease fame. I did get the chills when her death was announced on the radio. 73 years old is much too young, especially when you're an old fart like me at 60.

I was lucky to see her in Vegas, Jan 1st 2016. What a sweet and kind lady.

From her post Grease era I loved her Totally Hot songs.
Pre Grease era, I remember Jolene, Sam, Don't Stop Believin'.
And of course I Honestly Love You. I remember that song appears in Jaws beach scene, though performed by another singer.

She rarely/never had flop songs. But Soul Kiss was one of those. The lead song from her mid 80s album only reached #20 in the States.
However its one my favorites along with Deeper Than The Night. Those songs are not what you think about but they are great.

This video was shot cleverly because she was very pregnant during the shoot so they only film her laying down to hide it.
