Yeah I know I talk about authors a lot but..... The Official Danielle Steel Thread!!!

So, I have started reading my first Danieel Steel book. It is called "Loving". I find it very good and I find her writing style, however simple, rather refreshing. The book is very good.

Any of you all read any of her works or whatnot???

Much Love,
Ethan

Didn't you already have a Danielle Steel thread somewhere??

Started to read one of her books once and got bored with it.

I have a theory about Danielle Steel. I think she has 4 plots in her word processor, and just rewrites the names, dates and sequences.

Sorry Ethan, but her writing jut seems so pedestrian. Although 'His Bright Light' the book about her son, was moving.

they say there are only 7 stories or 11 or whatever the number is. And its true in a sense but the author (or film director, screenwriter etc) uses unique, inventive and entertaining ways of telling those same stories, or atleast they do if they're any good. In her case she seems not bother and really does just write the same stuff over and over. Its just not my kind of thing though, I like Orwell the most.

Well, in one book, the lead male character's stomach muscles were "rippling", and in another, they were "rippled". You have to give her kudos for variety.

I think her books suck, but I do enjoy the guilty pleasure of watching the film versions on Lifetime.

I do not read fiction. :wavey:

oh for sure. sometimes the leading lady's got a thick mane of chestnut hair. sometimes the mane is like corn silk. it's amazing.

I am a freaking addict. I love all her stories. There was a period from 1998-1999 ~ that’s all I wanted to do. But I don’t have much time for reading anymore. My favorites are Message from Nam, Family Jewels, Granny Dan & Echoes

14 threads by one person in a week. Six days actually. That's gotta be a record.
