Christine Songs you Dislike

Just like the thread in the Stevie forum, we're listing Chris songs we don't like.

Hate:
Only Over You

Dislike:
Easy Come, Easy Go
Anything is Possible
Bad Journey
I'm the One

ontheEdgeof17 12-23-2004 04:43 PM

-Only Over You
-Wish You Were Here
-Never Make Me Cry
-Don't Stop (just dislike a little)
-Sooner or Later
-All of '84 except LWSUH, Got a Hold on Me, So Excited, The Challenge
-All of ITM except Friend, You Are, Northern Star, Anything is Possible

....I like her better with Fleetwood Mac

I thought about putting that one in, but is a good, upbeat song. I'm just sick of it.

Ditto. Overplaying it made me hate it.

Oh...I forgot about her first solo album....I don't like any of that. :sorry: Christine fans.

GateandGarden 12-23-2004 04:58 PM

I love everything I've heard from the Christine Perfect album, but I haven't heard the 1984 album, so I can't comment.

Dislike:

Oh Daddy
Sugar Daddy
Liar
Bad Journey

EDIT: Forgot one--Honey Hi

Hmmmmm...shorter than my Stevie list. And there aren't any that I hate, unlike with Stevie. But then again there are fewer Christine songs out there, right?

EDIT again: Had to remove "Songbird" and "Hollywood (Some Other Kind of Town)" because I like them both now. :woohoo:

I forgot about "Bad Journey." I need to go back and add that one in. I think "Oh Daddy" is probably her best. I didn't always like it, though.

Listening to live boots and hearing the Reissue version made me love it. It is honestly my favorite Chris song now. I can listen to it every day.

macfan 57 12-23-2004 05:07 PM

I can honestly say there are no Christine McVie songs that I truly dislike. I can usually find something to like somewhere. However, there are a few songs that I would say are so so. I wouldn't miss them if I'd never heard them.

One More Night(Her only song that she ever wrote in the third person)
Skies The Limit(The title is grammatically incorrect, very annoying)
I Do

Easy Come Easy Go used to be in this category, but now it's grown on me. There are just a few songs that she wrote on the Christine Perfect album that I would describe as subpar(the songs themselves), however I'll give her a pass since this was so early in her career & I LOVE her keyboards & vocals on the whole album.

Claudia 12-23-2004 05:30 PM

As in the Stevie thread, there aren't many Christine songs that I truly dislike, it very much depends on my mood. These are the ones I don't like much:

- Sugar Daddy
- Never Make Me Cry
- One More Night
- Love In Store
- Everywhere - I've grown tired of it :(
- So Exited - bleh
- Easy Come, Easy Go

NicksIllume 12-23-2004 06:03 PM

Christine Perfect album

For You

Self Titled 1984 album

I love it all!

In the Meantime

I only love a select few, but I can't say I dislike or hate any.

It's a good song. Her songs carry Behind the Mask. They are all good, IMO. Hillary, I think you will be adding Stevie's BTM songs to your dislike list. You won't like them.

I agree about Chris and BTM. "Behind the Mask" itself is a phenomenal song.

I <3 Skies the Limit especially the first 20 or 22 seconds before it kicks in, the use of restitute, the chorus, Stevie's vocals, and the whole 3 minutes and 45 seconds of the song.

Hawkeye 12-23-2004 10:58 PM

Hate

Never Make Me Cry
Only Over You
I Do

Dislike

So Excited
Keeping Secrets

I feel like Curtis because I honestly LOVE all of those. Just like his fave Stevie songs are on everyone's dislike or hate lists.

Just two that I really dislike for Christine:

One More Night

Do You Know

Everything else I love or at least like considerably.

takenbythesky 12-24-2004 12:25 AM

Oops...Must have missed this one somehow.

-"Wish You Were Here"--this song just doesn't interest or affect me at all emotionally, it's flat somehow.

Yeah. That one is pretty stinky, too. :(

HomerMcvie 12-24-2004 03:15 AM

Blah:
One More Night

So so:
Only Over You
Oh Daddy

PS- I love Wish You Were Here. :)

face of glass 12-24-2004 04:38 AM

I don't hate or dislike any of them. Even "Do You Know" and "Everywhere" go through the eardrums nicely during the holiday eating competitions.

Gailh 12-24-2004 08:43 AM

There are no Christine songs that I hate.

I didn't used to to like Honey Hi because I thought the lyrics were lazy. But then I heard the demo on the Tusk remaster and I liked it a lot more.

Gail

ThePenguin 12-24-2004 08:59 AM

I don't have any that I hate-- but one that always makes me cringe is from her 1st album, the C Perfect album-- Let Me Go (Leave Me Alone)-- yikes, her voice just doesn't seem to be able to navigate that song very well!

More recent ones that don't grab me all that much.... hmm maybe a few on her 1984 solo album are a little bland...nothing that I really despise though.

I agree with Curtis (again.) I used to despise Oh Daddy - I would skip it every time. But the harmonies on the reissue are amazing. And it's much better live.

Now, I really don't care for:

Warm Ways
Don't Stop (due to overplay)
One More Night
Only Over You
Mystified

macmar71 12-30-2004 11:34 PM

Sugar Daddy
Don't Stop
Only Over You
Ask Anybody
I'm The One
Mystified
Ricky
Nights in Estoril
Save Me

MACFAN 12-31-2004 12:53 AM

Anything from the Time album

Miss Vicky 01-15-2005 06:47 PM

Dislike:
Everywhere
Only Over You
Over My Head
Over and Over
(She needs to quite with the "Over" songs, I just don't like them)

Hate:
Honey Hi

Can't really comment on the solo work. I love pretty much all of the 1984 album, especially The Smile I Live For. But I haven't really listened to Christine Perfect or In the Meantime. I had a cassette copy of a Chicken Shack record at one point, but I don't know what I did with it. :(

Cristian 01-16-2005 02:07 PM

Oh I hate so much "Only Over You". Must be her only Fleetwood Mac song that I skip. On her solo tunes,

When You Say
So Excited
Easy Come, Easy Go

And a couple more from her 1984 which are, I agree, rather bland. The rest of her Fleetwood Mac catalogue is fine with me. :)

saraforscarlett 01-23-2005 04:12 PM

To be honest, the only one I can come up with right here is "Only over you".

There used to be many that I disliked earlier, like "Oh Daddy", "I wish you were here", "Think about me", "Hold Me" etc... But I've grown to like all of these, although some more than others.

Temporary One

That song is bloody awful. Hurts my ears.

On The Dance, after the song ends, doesn't someone yell out, "Do it again!" ?? :p

However I don't really like Only Over You, or Wish You Were Here.

Is that what that person is yelling out? I have always heard someone saying something...lol....that is funny "Do It Again!" :D
