Football is finally here!

And I'm sure all of you know that Bama will be repeating as National Champions
this year. If you're unsure, just watch how they pound that pretend team from
Penn State tonight on ESPN.

I like the Over in Alabama/Duke, which is currently at 58.

Alabama is favored by 24- which is a lot for any team, on the road, versus another team that has shown they can put up points. Shouldn't be a problem, but it will be interesting to see how Ingram looks on Saturday.

But, yeah, play the over.

Teaser bets are for succers... but you could tease the Alabama point spread down
and raise the over. With a healthy Ingram there will be plenty of the running game
from Bama. So the total might not be as high as that. Plus Bama has class and they
usually don't run the score up.

My GUESS is that 'playing the over' might mean betting on the team who is not favored and have been 'given points' in their odds to win the game?

Well, obviously I need to lay low if at all in this thread, though maybe I can learn a little bit before I turn 100. "Play the over".... what the hail does that mean??
And yes, after this 2nd message here, I will lurk and leave it to those of you who know what each other is talking about, I promise.

The over, if you bet it you would be betting that the teams combined
score would go over a certain amount set by sweet guys called bookies, or
odds-makers.

Parlay or Teasers is a bet on the total score of both teams and taking
the over or under and then picking a team that has to win by
a certain amount of points set by odds-makers. Note that picking the favored
team you have to lay points. Picking the underdog (not the cartoon) you
recieve points. And since you are really making two bets, you get to tease
the bet by a few points on the total and the getting/giving points line.

Don't forget to figure in the Juice.

And even though I feel I'm being set-up...
Bama is just short for Alabama and
many people just call the football team Bama.
But if you're a yankee you are required to use
the following words at all times when referring
to the greatest college football team of all time.
And those words are...
The Alabama Crimson Tide or
The Crimson Tide Of Alabama.

from the K State/UCF game today some of the most surreal storm clouds I have ever seen.

The way Alabama played they'll be lucky to win the SEC West.

Was the outcome ever really in doubt?
The #10 pigs put up a good fight, but

"Bama" is just the shortened "Southern" version of "Alabama". The school's nickname is "The Crimson Tide".

The difference this year is that the Huskers WIN their "hiccup" game. And, with UCLA handing the 'Horns, their "rump roast"...look for BIG RED to take, not just the North Division, but the entire Big 12 championship.

due to the SC QB had to be one of the DUMBEST plays I have seen in years. Gee, just down the ball at the 3 yard line, don't knock it out of the endzone...

Didn't want to say it earlier- but I knew Alabama was NOT going to go undefeated this year, and they're unlikely to win the whole thing...... Although I do have some bias against Bama.... :laugh:

Tough break. I had South Carolina covering, but not winning.

Oregon or Boise will falter down the stretch, so Alabama just needs to stay strong.
