*eagerly opens Winamp* edit: I heard it! Chris, you brazen hussy. |
I swear I've heard this millions of times before and never really realized what she was saying.
Here it is in all it's glory for everyone to hear. http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.ph...89360367589560 |

Mind you I've always thought that Brown Eyes is the sexiest FM song ever! Gail |
It's just a great song period!
|
yea ive heard it!
i always thought she was saying "now touch me baby" lol, might just be my ears...... she was apparently quite getting into the mood of that song during the recording! |
oh and another thing that i found interesting,
at the end around 4:15 you can hear lindsey doing a really cute, quite prominent little "mmm" & christine singing really cute & quite pleading sounding "shalalas" lol, you really have to hear it to know what im talking about, turn it right up, they stand out theyre just cute :D |

Oh, and: Grace is on vacation; she threatened me with a shotgun if I didn't allow her to travel.
Where'd she take off to? |

You're a terrible person :p |
Totally heard the "touch me" part.
I like this song, it is kind of sexy in a weird way. I love the intro. However I so wish there wasn't any "sha la la" in it:sorry: |

Nice find! Makes the song more horny than it already is. It never came to me as "sexy". I think it's a step further than that. It's sweaty, almost explicit. After this incredible find even more. Hmm. Let's all play it in the bedroom tonight! I love this song. But hell, I love the whole friggin'album without any exception. |

Brown Eyes is the type of song that you imagine playing in some smoky, hole-in-the-wall bar/club type place back in the late 70's where people are doing like...dirty dancing (like the place in the actual movie, Dirty Dancing...nobody really knows about it, but the regulars, ya know?). |
I can't believe you found that, Justin. I would've never picked that out in a million years. You rock.
Anyway, I think this song is exquisite, and while I normally don't like shalalas, in this song they bring the stunning harmonies, so I love them. Chris' Tusk work just slays me. Even songs I don't listen to much because they are so "slow", like Brown Eyes, still slay me. Even my least favorite songs, Over and Over and Make Me Cry slay me. My two favorites, Never Forget and Honey Hi, practically make me faint. The music in Brown Eyes is strange, and so perfect. And the shalalalas haunt me. And yes, it's very sexy. |

Oh, Tusk, how I love thee. Sooo magical, so perfect. I've never heard them sound better on each other's songs. I'm going to have to listen to the whole thing now. |

But it's just one of those mysteries of art: no one can pinpoint precisely what it is that hits listeners square on. |

Anyway, yeah, what you said about art. Eww, SMAP. Must skip. |

I think it's always striking when someone does a song that's along different lines to what they normally do. Chris didn't do so many moody songs - if Stevie or Lindsey had sung this maybe it wouldn't appeal to people in the same way.
It's like when Jeremy Spencer did songs that weren't Elmore James - it was rare, so it stood out ;) |
Actually, I do hear something that does sound a bit like 'Touch Me" but it sounded as if it was Stevie's voice. I don't have headphones so I probably wouldn't be one to judge.
Is it me or can you hear a lot more of Lindsey's vocals on the Expanded Disc 2 version of this song? |

im sure its definently christine

I don't have any headphones so I can't hear it that clear. It could be Mick for all I know. |

Yep, it's Christine
I have some expensive headphones I got for my birthday....it's Christine.

And I don't care about "intrinsic merit" in pop music, I mean, what exactly would that be?? I like what moves me and sounds good, I like what strikes a chord. Merit? Pshaw! Also, I think Brown Eyes has one of the best organ riffs/sounds of any Mac song ever . Yay to Chris for that one :blob1:. |
