Again? Really?

SAD.:distress:

Very cool re-packaging.

It says six discs. By the look of the it, the six disc is the record album. Very cool.

It says 6 discs. So there has to be at least something really special on some of those discs. And if there are, I see no reason to whine about how "again" this is. It has the potential to be just barely under the excitement of a new album if its done well.

The picture also does confirm the Rosebud Film. From the looks of things it's Rumours on vinyl and cd, two discs of outtakes (1 Recording Sessions Roughs and Outtakes, 1 More from the Recording Sessions), two discs of the Rosebud Films (just guessing on that second one since it is clearly a shot from the Santa Barbara concert), and then a replica of the tour book maybe or hopefully a new booklet.

I don't want to encourage this behavior on their part, but for an FM addict, it does look irresistible.

My friend told me that they have repackaged Star Wars every two years since it came out, so maybe we have it easy.

Yeah, I have to say that this looks really interesting. It's more that just the 2-disc reissue from a few yrs back. I hope it sells well, which would encourage the powers that be to continue reissuing other Mac items, i.e Mirage,TITN, etc.

Is the Rosebud doc DVD or just CD?

Johnny Stew 12-08-2012 04:01 PM

The scope of this package is a lot like the "archive collection" sets they've been releasing for Paul McCartney -- and then some. (The McCartney releases, on average, feature 3 CDs, a DVD and a book.) Looks like we're in for a treat.

I'm looking forward to seeing the full track-listing. Hopefully a press release will follow shortly.

Thanks michele! I'm glad its on DVD. I get tired of poor quality versions on youtube and only having the Dance on DVD.

I'm definitely buying this!

U.S. Version of Amazon only shows 3 disc set to be released 1/29/13... I hope they release the 6 disc version in the U.S. as well. :distress:'

It looks like disc 1 is full album, disc 2 is outtakes cd, and disc 3 is the DVD.

KarmaContestant 12-08-2012 07:42 PM

Ooooh, looks cool!

I totally agree with you...repackaging over and over...blah. I am not interested in the 3 disc set, however, that 6 disc set is something I would buy.

and then the DVD of 'The Rosebud Film' and the LP.

I'm pretty sure the Amazon listing is a little messed up since the DVD is actually "disc 3" in this package and the outtakes are discs 4 and 5. But anyways.

From the looks of things, the one outtakes disc is just a retread of the second disc from the Rumours reissue from 2004. Luckily for us, there is a 3 disc "Expanded Edition" that will also be available, and will include the disc of outtakes that haven't already been released.

Anyways, I'm pretty excited for this set. I wasn't sure what to think, but it looks like they are giving us a lot of great stuff. I'm most excited to see "Keep Me There" on there. What is this "vocal verion" that I see listed? Anybody know anything about it? Also excited to see an "early take" of "Doesn't Anything Last". I really liked the version of it on the 2004 reissue and I'm intrigued to see what they have here.

My only real complaint is the live set. I'm pretty sure they were still playing stuff like "Station Man" and "Tell Me All Things You Do" in 1977 and it would have been cool to get some Buckingham Nicks era versions of those songs on CD and DVD.
