When I read those first words, "I'm sad to say..." and saw Lindsey's pic, my heart stopped. I was certainly not expecting this.

This is a tough period for Lindsey and his family. I hope they are ok, emotionally and physically.

I don't even wanna talk about that woman. She's on tour being happy. She finally got what she wanted. Please, leave it at that.

I agree. If anyone finds out where we can send well wishes to Lindsey, please post it here. I'm sure someone will if that information become available.

I knew that a day like this would come eventually and will never be prepared for it. Incredibly thankful that he’s still with us. Can’t imagine what his family is going through right now.

This hit me really hard. It’s going to be with me for a while. Speaks volumes for how his music has affected my life. I’m certain that I’m not alone...

RockyRaccoon 02-08-2019 03:51 PM

Maybe the members of the band might actually think to reach out to him. After something like this, it just goes to show that you never know when it might be too late.

Storms123 02-08-2019 03:55 PM

This made me emotional Very emotional Thank god they caught it and he looks well.

It hit me really hard too, and all I care about is his and his family's recovery. :(:(:(

His tour can wait. His former band members: I don't care.

Besides hoping for a full recovery as soon as possible, I hope the trauma to his vocal chords is just temporary. I also can't help but wonder what might have happened if he had toured with FM. All that stress... It might have just saved his life to have been doing the things he's done on his own terms (somewhat) this year. Brightest blessings to all.

Macfan4life 02-08-2019 04:23 PM

OMG
Praying for a speedy and full recovery
So scary. This was always Lindsey's deep fear after losing his father and brother at young ages to sudden heart problems.
God Bless you Lindsey
We love you very much!

luminol 02-08-2019 04:50 PM

I just saw her post and am SO GRATEFUL that he seems to be recovering... WOW, SO SCARY and shocking... Life is short and none of us know which sunrise will be our last. What a shock for him and his family. Thinking of them...

David 02-08-2019 04:51 PM

Guy's always been an unstoppable dynamo onstage, so maybe his recovery will be all the speedier.

BlanketMan 02-08-2019 05:00 PM

Such a shock to read this. I sure hope he recovers fully. He looked/sounded so great on Nov 30 when I saw his show in PA. Thank goodness he sought medical care and seems to be on the mend.

I had tickets to see Mike Nesmith and Micky Dolenz in June of 2018, and the show was cancelled last minute because Mike had to have emergency heart surgery, also. I bring it up because Mike is back on the road and looking/sounding great, and says he's feeling so much better than the weeks before the problem was found, so we can only hope Lindsey's recovery goes just as well, also.

mitzo 02-08-2019 05:03 PM

Good Lord. Thought he looked off over the past year or so. Hope he will be OK but the vocal cord damage is scary for a seventy-year-old.

BTFLCHLD 02-08-2019 05:30 PM

Based on the bandage and bruising, looks like he had to have a Tracheotomy. Quite possible he wasn't breathing at some point. God Bless Lindsey 🙏 😇 ❤️

jmn3 02-08-2019 05:36 PM

Poor Lindsey - what horrible news to see today. Sending tons of good vibes to him and his family for a successful and speedy recovery. These guys seem larger than life and invincible and the sad reality of life is none of us are.

Politically correct, that's it.

I'm glad he's alive and with his family and true friends. The rest is just background noise.

I don't doubt the sincerity of their statement. Deciding not to tour with him is not the same thing as wishing sickness or death on him.

They should feel guilty!

I am glad to hear this about Dolenz. I was wondering if Lindsey made a full recovery, if he could still get insurance needed to tour. I guess he can. His vocal chords are another matter. Will power won’t help them. We have mocked his speeches before, but what I wouldn’t give to hear him drone on about cycles now. As for his singing voice, I have had complaints about his whisper croaking for a long time now. So, I will take that with gratitude.

They didn’t give him a reason on why they didn’t want to tour with him, did they? Hell, they didn’t even meet with him to tell him he was fired, so yeah, I totally doubt of the sincerity of this copy and paste cold message.

Same here. I thought about him having a heart attack onstage or something.... christ. Glad he's at home and progressing well.

No but we do know Stevie does intend to dance around her apartment for 10 years. Lindsey was a clear and present danger to achieving that. This message is about as sincere as the "thoughts and prayers" crap that gets put out by every politician when anything happens.

My post on this thread (the last post, also copied below) immediately came to mind: http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showthread.php?t=58483

Thank god he has Kristen.

2018 - taking a stock for LB & LB fans

2018 taught me to appreciate Lindsey more. His firing forced me to take a closer look at his skill set, and I came away an even bigger fan than before.

I had not listened to Lindsey Buckingham Christine McVie, Seeds We Sow, Songs From The Small Machine, or One Man Show. With the exception of the 50% of OMS that is unavailable, I am now familiar with all of these. I also listened for the first time to the bootleg GOS material (thanks to you kind folks who referred me to it after I bumped up an 18-year-old thread). What a treat "Singer, Not The Song" is.

I even checked out the Walter Egan records he produced.

I now find myself a much more educated and appreciative Lindsey Buckingham fan.

Thanks, Fleetwood Mac, for making that happen.

I'll second that sentiment. Let's be positive and hope and pray for the best.

Get well Linds.

Sending my Love and kind thoughts for a quick and healthy healing process for our precious Lindsey and his loving, supportive family.

sodascouts 02-08-2019 10:31 PM

THANK GOD he's recovering. Praying for Lindsey's healing, and his vocal chords as well. While his life is most important of course, it would be a great loss if he were unable to sing again.

Nick do you have any idea what a broken heart and stress can do to a person? I am putting SOME of the blame right at the witch's feet.

Beautiful statement. So grateful we have his wife to speak for him at the moment. Praying for a complete recovery.

Thinking the same thing. He'll still have his magic hands but the combination of his playing and singing is truly special. Lifting Lindsey and his family up in prayer.

AliceLover 02-08-2019 10:47 PM

This is weighing on me so heavily. How incredible it is to have a person ice only ever met once to have such an impact on my life.

I pray that he gets well, his health and family are most important.

I will say, for open heart surgery, he doesn’t look too bad!
