Third Fritz Recording Posted-- In The Dawn!

Hey everyone!

We are pleased to present the third Fritz song-- 'In The Dawn'. This 1:36 clip was recorded at Sound City Studios in LA in 1970. Stevie sings lead and Lindsey & Javier are on background vocals. Once again, thanks so much to Javier Pacheco for giving the fans the opportunity to hear this music. Enjoy and comments are certainly encouraged!

I like the lyrics. The harmonies are nice. And I was thinking Age Of Aquarius too with a bit of a segue to the Mamas and Papas sound toward the end of the clip. Who is playing piano?

This is my favorite of the tracks posted so far... great new-agey lyrics by Javier, a terrific vocal from Stevie, and some really nice, lush backing harmonies.

Too bad the snippet is so short! I can't wait to hear the full-length version (hopefully we won't have to wait too much longer).

Thank you, Javier & Marty! :wavey:

Groovy. :cool:

Thanks to Javier and Marty!! :thumbsup:

Love the lyrics. Very intelligent and well-phrased. Except - what does "OM" stand for?

Patti 08-06-2004 07:59 AM

Love it! Stevie sounds great and the harmonies are sublime. Thanks one more time, Marty and Javier. Keep 'em coming, please!

Behold this excerpt from The Moody Blues' In The Search Of The Lost Chord album!
"Two notes of the chord, that's our poor scope,
And to reach the chord is our life's hope.
And to name the chord is important to some,
So they give it a word, and the word is OM."

OM
(Michael Pinder)

"The rain is on the roof,
Hurry high, a butterfly.
As clouds roll past my head,
I know why the skies all cry,

Om. Om. Heaven. Om.

The Earth turns slowly round,
Far away, the distant sound.
Is with us everyday,
Can you hear, what it says,

Om. Om. Heaven. Om."

In other words, dated hippie crap. ;) :xoxo:

This is great! It's not often you hear the word "thwarted" in a song. :p

Thanks Javier!

:mad: "Dated" my a$$!!! Don't be dissin' my favorite genre of music.

BEATLES, Hendrix, Cream, Fleetwood Mac, The Doors, Stones, Moody Blues, Jethro Tull, Traffic, Blind Faith, CSNY, Dylan, Humble Pie, etc.

Man, I could use a whole album's worth of tunes like "In the Dawn," which I find stunning. The harmonies have an almost academic exactness & construction, but that doesn't prevent them from affecting one emotionally, which they do.

Bravo, Fritz! I'd rather hear more from them than another CD of fractured, confused, overreaching productions by Fleetwood Mac.

Listen here daddy-o, I don wanna diss yo favourite muse-sick. I loves 'em Moodies alright, 'dem made some outstanding stuff. Da Chord's got "The Actor", "Voices In The Sky" and other delicious bitches for me to dwell on. I just diss some of 'em lyrics 'cos they are like the bones of an old hag.

(Honestly, did anyone take all the Moodies' lyrics seriously back in the '60s or were they just too stoned to pay attention to them? ;) Now they feel dated, but I just ignore them when I put the records on.)

This is MUCH better the Louisa Joy and about equal to Gergia, but this is all awseome.

golddustwoman77 08-07-2004 10:49 AM

I was definitely thinking Mamas and Papas-esque because of the harmonies. Great lead vocals by Stevie. It is so awesome to be able to hear all of these unheard, Fritz songs! Thanks so much! :thumbsup:

golddust 08-14-2004 11:38 PM

~~~I absolutely love hearing this music - thanks so much!!!
jadegypsy 08-17-2004 12:37 PM
Thanks
Thanks so much for posting this, at first I was afraid my computer wouldn't handle it since I'm on dial up, but luckily it did. It's neat to hear such an early recording. I will have to listen to the other songs now:)
