Lyrics:

I took a trip out of town
A hundred years underground
I had to swim across the sea
Oh, when you were my baby

(Chorus)

Did you miss me in the morning
Did you miss me in the evening
When everyone is bound to dream
Did you ever run where the wind blows
Did you ever go where I didn't go (???)
Oh baby, did you miss me

A hundred years out of town
It's not so long, so I found
Just long enough to get free
Oh, when you were my baby

Did you miss me in the morning
Did you miss me in the evening
When everyone is bound to dream
Did you ever run where the wind blows
Did you ever go where I didn't go
Oh baby, did you miss me

Look at us now
The years fall down
Show me how

Check it out, hear the sound
All these walls are comin' down
That's just you, that's just me
Oh, when you were my baby

(Chorus)

I can't hear if he's saying the word go or know in the chorus. Anyone know?

To me, the last line sounds like: Did you ever come when I didn't know.

Probably just my dirty little mind at work.

At one point, I did think he said, "did you ever call when I didn't know" and I thought that was really cool. I mean, thinking of someone you love calling out to you when you cannot hear or were not in a mood to be responsive at the time. Needing you when you weren't there to give. I like that sentiment a lot.

But upon further listens, I know that's not what he said.

how are you listening to the whole song? all I get is a 15 sec preview

TrueFaith77 07-26-2008 05:37 PM

I hear "come" and "know"

Pretty catchy song- AAA stations will definitely like it, that's for sure.

Lyrically, however, it comes off as a half-assed rewrite of Castaway Dreams.

Lyrically, it's not as layered as many of the songs on UTS, which are often quite poetic.

At the chorus, Did You Miss Me reminds me of Down Endless Street.

Amazon won't have the whole song up for download for a couple of days, but you can definitely hear the chorus, particularly the part that people are questioning, in the sound bite.

"Did you ever go where I didn't know" or "did you ever go where I didn't go" or whatever it is he might be saying. That's the last line at the end of the Amazon clip.

great great song!

Ok that one line (maybe I have a dirty mind too) but I hear

"Did you ever come, when I didn't know"

what do you think?

forgot- the chorus has some similarities to Steal Your Heart Away - anyone hear it? (musically)
