Thoughts on upcoming tour....
I've read and heard a lot of this "splitting of ways"/"firing" of Lindsey and I've come to the conclusion that if he's not with the band, I'm not going to the "Farewell" concert. What's the point? It's ridiculous!!! I want to see Fleetwood Mac - as Fleetwood Mac! Lindsey Buckingham is an integral part of the band. It's like an arm or leg is pulled away and it's not a whole team anymore. I know I'm just a speck in the big picture but I will not attend the concert. (I have been going to all the concerts solo and full band since the beginning). I'm sure they will be charging way too much anyway!!!:distress:

Stevie is the show for many, but they'll sure be missing more than 20%, with him gone. More like 40%! I mean, how many spins can she do? |
It's like why? Why go and see a watered down lame version of FM. Mike C and Finn are great musicians but they at this point are replacements. The ONLY purpose at this point to even have a tour is TAKING YOUR MONEY and nothing more. It's gross.

Honestly, I get the feeling none of them (except maybe Mick) want to do this “big machine” anymore. Stevie herself said 24k was her most favorite tour ever and Lindsey and Christine looked so happy in the more “intimate setting” (Christine’s words). If that’s the case, let OWTS be the end of it.
Clearly money is a draw, but none of them are starving to death, and with the exception of Mick, seems like they have a decent handle on how to manage their finances |

Agree your point though, we saw them in Leeds 2015, he was outta this world. I asked my husband and he couldn’t even remember Stevie’s performance. I won’t miss Never going back again.... |
I remember in 87 on the Tango In The Night tour, it was a little different because Lindsey CHOSE to leave the band.
So it felt like the fans still showed up to support the band. And Rick and Billy did a great job and they sounded great. Lindsey was missed, but the band still sounded great. I'm sure, based on decades of watching Mike Campbell play with the Heartbreakers, that the upcoming shows will sound amazing. But I think for most of us, it will be beyond bittersweet knowing that Lindsey was kicked out of the band. I will most likely sit this tour out, unless I can find an affordable ticket and it's a convenient time to go. But I won't be paying off the chart ticket prices or taking any great pains to see them. If it's easy, I'm there. But that's about all the commitment they'll get out of me. I don't need to see another greatest hits show -- it was getting a little predictable even with Lindsey still touring with them. Will save my pennies for Lindsey's solo tour and all the great bands out there who are still making great music (and getting along with each other --- The National, Local Natives (the new Fleetwood Mac of LA), Wilco, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Gillian Welch...) |
How many fans are there who are primarily Christine fans? There seem to be zillions of fans who say they're Stevie fans, or Lindsey fans, or fans of the band as a whole, but how many are there who mostly (or entirely) care about Christine?
She has always been my favorite member of the band, going back to the Welch era. I was ecstatic when she rejoined, and paid to see Fleetwood Mac for the first time in a long time. I was ecstatic when she recorded an album and toured with Lindsey. However, my revulsion at what the band did to Lindsey is stronger than my desire to see Chris in concert again. I have exactly zero interest in seeing a show dominated by Stevie and featuring these new musicians, about whom I care not a whit. As much as I love Chris' music, I am not intending to go to the On With the Faux tour. But it makes me a little sad, because this might be my last chance to see her. Anybody else share my predicament? |

Yes, absolutely. I love Christine but I'm so disappointed with her. At the moment I am steadfastly telling myself I wont go to see a show when they come to the UK. But...I might soften. I don't know how long I can stay annoyed with CM. As soon as I see her on TV being interviewed my heart might melt and I'll feel different. We'll see. I'm slightly different in that I do actually quite like Neil Finn. I like the Heartbreakers but I've never been a really big fan so I'm not stoked about MC so much. If LB's album and tour does well then I'll certainly reconsider. |

And now, another end. I want to see Chris and John again, but not this way, as support to Stevie & friends with LB out. I've listened to some form of FM or solo music nearly every day for 20+ years and now I can't, without thinking of this mess. |

And she's also Mick's friend, not Lindsey's. Well, not in the same way. |
I'm with pretty much everything that's been posted here. I've always supported the band and attended every tour--at times travelling hundreds of miles, getting a hotel, and spending hundreds on good seats. I'm not complaining; it's my thing, and I have loved every moment of it. But this is just too distasteful. I'll be redistributing those funds this year to The Avett Brothers.

I love Christine more than members of my own family. I'm so angry with her. The only glimmer of hope is that she wanted to make guest appearances with LB on his solo stints. I imagine to do BuckVie! I bet I know who got jealous.
$tevie and MIck even took that away from us. $he played this very well. |
