Mac/Mick Fleetwood News
I got this from my friend in radio in Denver last week. I did not see this posted anywhere so I figured that I would post it.
MAC ATTACKS TO KEEP ON COMIN' Mick Fleetwood says the Mac's current tour won't be the last time you'll see them. He said that even though he expects both Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham to be doing solo albums in the near future, that doesn't spell the end of the reunited band. Fleetwood said he foresees the band getting back together to record again within 5 years. In other news, Mick mentioned that estranged Fleetwood Mac-er Christine McVie is working on a solo album, too, and that he'd heard the material, which he called "classic Christine." RAITT, FRAMPTON, OSBORNE, FLEETWOOD ON U.S.-CUBAN RELEASE To be released this July: Bridge to Havana, a new CD/DVD that bridges two cultures through music and goodwill. it boils my blood to knwo they're going to go the solo route again. There's NO NEED guys, just make more Fleetwood Mac.

Here is what I forsee:
1) Stevie does her last solo album and tour within the next 3 years 2) Lindsey does his last solo album within the same time frame, and possibly a small tour like with Out of the Cradle 3) Fleetwood Mac has a final studio album out by 2007 and does the "Farewell Tour" to match |

LB, on the other hand  - his solo record may get morphed again - But, I hope it does not. Personally, I wish they would just do FM records from now on. But, I'll take what I can get  |

I don't know if I can get excited about this. A new record within 5 years?? Gee, I'll 34 then.. Hmm, and they'll be.. :o And LB doing a solo-record in the near future, knowing him that means.. uhh.. say, 3 years? :p Ok, I can start saving money for the trip to the US now :D |

I have a whole bag full of those words from my reporting days. They are often meaningless, trust me. |
I think that is really bad news at least out of a LB fan perspective. The only way we could get new Lindsey music in an acceptable time frame is that there is a new FM project. He probably might think of releasing the leftover GOS stuff but it is highly unlikely that there are more than let's say 4 songs we didn't know about on that one. And even if he does so- how long will it take...? Of course he could release this stuff parallel with the making of a new FM album. He doesn`t take as much time for FM as he does for his solo projects. But if Stevie goes solo first again, with touring etc. that will last- well yes probably 5 years for the next FM CD. Too much time for people of that age imo. They took their time now it`s about time to hurry up again
No seriously, if Mick talks about a FM project in a timeframe of 5 years, then they have not agreed on working together right after the SYW tour. I thought they had planned their future this way or the other- obviously they haven`t. And that means- waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, and my hair turns from blue to grey and I am waiting |
