Unexpected FM

Does anyone else ever randomly hear Fleetwood Mac, find records or CD's or see them on TV?

Today, I went record shopping and found two Stevie albums, TOSOTM and RAL, and the shop was playing Sara. It really brightened my day :D

StreetAngel95 02-25-2010 02:37 PM

i've told this story before, but on the opening night of the HANNAH MONTANA MOVIE, my friends and i went to Burger King before the show (at MIDNIGHT)

we were the only ones in the restaurant, and while i'm ordering i suddenly heard some VERYYY FAMILIAR LYRICS : "something in you brought out something in me, that i've never been since..."

I SCREAMED!!!!!:blob2: i freaked out! and my friends were like, "WTF? They just played Owl City and now they play THIS CRAP?!"

i didn't speak to them for a couple days....teehee!
:sorry:

I just heard the instrumental intro from "Bleed to Love Her" on the Today Show. I was really confused at first--it was one of those moments where I was trying to decided if I was making it up, or if it was really FM. A nice surprise over breakfast!

Whle I was lining up at JB Hi-Fi once to buy some albums, the sound of "Second Hand News" came on over the speakers, promptly followed by "Dreams" while I was making the exchange - Rumours was being played! :D All I wanted to do was keep browsing the store, but I had to get to uni... :distress:

aleuzzi 02-28-2010 03:23 PM

Once heard the guitar parts for World Turning during a scene shift in a Tales of the Crypt episode.

bluefox4000 02-28-2010 06:35 PM

When I was buying new speakers for my computer, The song they played to test them out was I'm so afraid.......the album version:thumbsup:

Today, at school, a guy played Big Love AND Go Insane, outside, on the guitar (we're in France, so noone knows who the f*ck is Lindsey Buckingham...). I think I'm in love!

ButterCookie 03-01-2010 02:51 PM

I love a man with good music taste!

I forgot to add onto the end of my post, about hearing Sara then finding the Stevie albums, I also passed a Shoe store called Bella Donna! :blob1:

ThunderHappens 03-02-2010 04:38 AM

I was in an antique shop last year, thumbing through a box of records and hoping for a Mac surprise or a Nicks fix. Sure enough...there was a near-perfect condition, complete copy of Tusk. While I continued browsing, holding it tight, Sara began to play over the store's sound system. How cool is that? :D

Meowi 03-04-2010 05:33 PM

Last night, I hear YMLF on the radio, The Dance version, to be exact.

StreetAngel95 03-04-2010 05:36 PM

Its not like the Ledge was one of the Mac's most popular song...
Anyway, last week I went to my mother's friends house, who had another person over aswell. Turned out, she was a BIG Tusk fan :woohoo:

PenguinHead 03-07-2010 07:52 PM

I was in a Home Depot the other day and heard 'Love in Store."

ButterCookie 03-09-2010 03:18 PM

I just turned on the radio to listen to a Patti Smith interview and the presenter said 'we'll be back to the chain'

Lo and Behold, he played the bass snippet :D

Oh how I would've loved to have been you! That was one of the few songs that really stuck with me the first time I listened to TITN (they all do now, of course).

StreetAngel95 03-13-2010 04:21 PM

today on my way home from dance class, the classic rock station was doing a "Fleetwood Mac Power Hour" and chronologically played their hits. It was awesome! Hearing " Oh Well" and "Albatross" on the radio was such a treat for me!

You're just trying to make me jealous now, aren't you? Well you've succeeded, dear friend!
On a serious note, I don't think I've ever heard "Oh Well" on the radio, and I haven't heard "Albatross" in its entirety on the radio since I visited New Zealand (Gold 104.3, a Melbourne station, had part of it on during an interview with Mick Fleetwood). :(

In the 1980's I used to hear Oh Well on the radio quite a bit. Often it would be the live version from FM Live 1980 which was cool.

ButterCookie 03-13-2010 07:41 PM

I've not watched TV properly in a LONG while, but I know that Marks & Spencer used to play Albatross on their 'It's not just food, it's M&S food' adverts.

Talk To Me(I know it's not a FM song, but oh well) was playing at the grocery store while I was in the checkout line about an hour ago.

tilthefirefades 03-15-2010 09:52 PM

I was at a gas station in Charlotte this past weekend and heard "Save Me" :D

Meowi 03-16-2010 12:44 AM

I was trying to find Kate Bush signatures, and the website was called Fleetwood Mac for Sale!

Then I searched - Kate Bush Sightings.
One of the first images was the Rumours cover

I thought I loved 1377 3MP before Sunday night - now I've come to realise just how brilliant a radio station it really is! They played "Albatross"! :woohoo: (Albeit at 2:25am...) It was funny though, because I was semi-asleep, and I only began to notice it about half-way through the song! :distress:
(As a side, it also affirmed my recent realisation that when falling asleep your mind simply wanders into thoughts you're not fully aware of thinking about, before you stop thinking and enter a fully-blown dream. It's therefore little wonder that I'm never aware of the precise moment I fall asleep! Mind, this information may not be new to some people...)

Dying might feel exactly like this.
