Zane Lowe Interview

did anyone else listen to the Zane Lowe interview on Apple last week?

She mainly talked about the new single, but also touched on her work with Gorilla and the last Fleetwood Mac tour.

Yeah it was a nice surprise to hear this! Not much stood out apart from the bit about the new Gorillaz track, but she sounded happy and energetic which was very nice to hear!

She also spoke about Lindsey and his writing style without any apparent vitriol. I bet bridges will be rebuilt at some point.

I think the clock might run out before it can happen.

It's interesting how she talked about the last FM tour. She spoke high praise for Neil.
She said everybody should know that we were contracted for seventy five shows so we had to do the tour.
Then she said "When (the tour) was over, it was over."

Does that mean that was FM's last tour?

I think she did admit though that she was the one who wanted Mike and Mick came up with Neil. Even though Mick said previously that he thought of Mike first. But I never believed that it was anyone but Stevie

Wasn't there reports that Stevie was unhappy with Mike for not getting some of the guitar parts right? I thought somebody spilled the tea on that a while back.

LOL...that is some major back peddling from the "this is a new band" days.

Yeah...you were under contract for 75 shows and OPTED to fire Lindsey instead of even attempting to work it out. The dude flew to Hawaii to work it out and got the cold shoulder.

She's such a revisionist idiot.

I listened to the whole interview, and it was interesting about the new songs.
Especially the reasons for recording them.
Also she touches on Lindsey going.

But my goodness she never draws breath…
Nothing wrong with her lungs !!

BigAl84 10-04-2022 10:45 AM

I just listened to it as well and stand by my original comments. She's talking about the shakedown as if it went down exactly the way it did in 87. As if Lindsey backed out after 75 shows were booked.

Clue phone for Ms. Nicks - he won his case in court and sued all of your collective a$$es for damages.

She really is. Does she actually believe the crap she spews, or does she think we're stupid?

What new songs? And what did she say about them?

She really lives in her own little world and just adjusts stories to fit whatever narrative she’s currently selling.

It’s really starting to hit me how much age is impacting these guys. She has developed that lisp thing that I hear with a lot of older people. I don’t know if it’s teeth related or what but it was noticeable immediately on words like “summer” or “deceiving.”

Well most of her diehard cult fans take everything she says as the gospel.

It's kind of hilarious to observe because it's almost like the rest of the band (FM) has acknowledged what ACTUALLY happened, some more subtly than others and she's out there still trying to push the 2018 talking points fed to her by Irving.

Does anyone else call BS on When Doves Cry being inspired by Edge of 17? For decades she only told a handful of stories about Prince. The guy passes away and new stories are introduced every tour.

Seems unlikely. In fact, I think any connection may have been in reverse: When Doves Cry was released in what, 1984? And it wasn’t until the Rock a Little tour in 1986 when Stevie started ad libbing “I know what it sounds like when doves cry” to the song’s big jam.

She talks (a lot) about Gorillaz and the song Oil.
Also about . For what it’s worth, her new single.

Not songs that she has written….but both new songs nevertheless
