Peter Green and the Splinter Group

hello all

I thought this board was looking a bit bare so I thought I would start a new thread.

I saw Peter Green live last year with his group, double headlining with John Mayall. I have to say it was a brilliant gig and such an awesome experience being able to see the Green God himself. They did a lot of the old FM classics, but the one which particularly stood out was Man of the World, which was simply an instumental and totally blew me away. Peter didn't actually say much during the gig, but during the interval him and the band showed up in the foyer and were very gracious, talking to fans and signing things. I got my tourbook signed by him and all the band but was too gobsmacked to actually say anything to him!

My dad saw him in Fleetwood Mac in the 60's - he thinks it's great that I am into them now, even though we often fall out because I am more into the Rumours era FM now. We can't discuss Fleetwood Mac anymore because it turns into a heated debate over which line up was the best!

Anyway, they seem to tour fairly often, and I hope they will come back and play Cardiff again because I will certainly be going again. Maybe by which time I will have thought of something sensible and intelligent that I can say to him!

Has anyone else had the pleasure of seeing Peter live, either recently or in the early days?

Love Gem
