UK success of In My World

So I'm not sure as to how well the single is doing elsewhere but here in the U.K. it seems to have taken off somewhat. Just thought I'd share some stats:

- Currently #81 on iTunes Top 100 Songs (quite an achievement considering the age of people who buy from iTunes)

- Currently #1 on iTunes Top Rock Songs (Has been for around a week now)

- #30 on UK Airplay Chart

- Was Record of the Week on BBC Radio 2 (Largest radio station in the U.K.)

- Currently #14 on Spotify U.K. Viral Chart

- Remains on BBC Radio 2's A list so gets regular airplay.

That's fantastic! I didn't expect anything from this!

On the contrary, I believe it's the opposite. Look at how Tango did in the UK!

It is being played a lot on Radio 2, which as James says is the largest and therefore most listened to radio station in The UK.
It's getting a lot of air play and a lot of people hearing it.
Even if you are not a big fan, the song is very catchy and you find yourself singing along with it .....

That was one of the goals, I think. And they achieved it.

Now here's hoping the rest of the album kicks some serious butt.

I think others are appreciating it more then us as we has such expectations of what it SHOULD be. They are just enjoying it for what it is.

I agree. We all have a laundry list of expectations for this record--a sure-fire way to be disappointed.

In the end, I have a feeling it will be what precisely what the reviewers are saying it is: a very good collection of pop songcraft.

That's a great point....

It's all over BBC Radio 2 - just heard it on Steve Wright (big DJ over here) who said, 'I love that guitar riff - that slightly off guitar'.

Me too, Steve!

I love Steve! BBC radio is fun to listen to. They play such a variety.

Exactly. He's my favourite DJ. So funny and the music is great. It can be anything from the mid 50's to Calvin Harris!

Btw, In My World is currently at #59 on the the U.K. iTunes Top 100 chart! That's incredible! It's so amazing seeing it outselling chart rubbish that is bought by youngsters.

This is so unexpected! Depending on the competition, I wouldn't be surprised if the album reaches top 5 here, maybe higher. The attention the single is getting can only mean great things for the album.

I like Steve and love Ken, but my favourite is Simon Mayo...
I like his brand of music (big Springsteen fan)
And his interviews are excellent.

I love how he says "by Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie. Fleetwood Mac essentially."
