I think we're all aware about the little story of Jimi Hendrix dedicating a song to Stevie in the early Fritz days.. Stevie herself has mentioned it a few times, however without context.
A few days ago I was looking at Stevie Fan Girl's tumblr (which is HILARIOUS so please look it up if you haven't already! I think they're on the Ledge as well??) and this excerpt was posted from a Hendrix book I'm assuming. Yellow underwear?! How amazing is that comment? Well, I just thought to look up any youtube evidence tonight, and lo and behold we have audio confirmation!!! If the original book excerpt is indeed correct in connecting that specific comment to Stevie's dedication.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEq_R-Ge1b8 |
Another FM/Stevie influenced band I know has been mentioned here..Grace Potter & the Nocturnals. I was aware of her cover of Gold Dust Woman, and Jefferson Airplane's White Rabbit, but was not a huge fan of the last album.
This new album due out next week is WAY more rock influenced, sounds amazing! She actually toured with Gov't Mule (Allman Bros. side project/band) and that kind of sound is much more prevalent in the latest work. Check out a live performance from NOLA Jazz Fest last month..my favorite track and according to youtube comments FM/Stevie tendancies are seen and heard by others. A little Chain and a little GDW for your weekend listening! Hope you enjoy  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNyiSSCZQ00 |
Interview with Ken Calliet
Q: How does working with Colbie compare with your experience with Fleetwood Mac?
Ken: "Fleetwood Mac was always pushy, cantankerous, opinionated and inebriated. Fast forward 30 years, and the whole situation is clean. Nobody smokes in the studio night or day. With Colbie, we just focus on the music. You can do things faster and cheaper now. We had 365 days to make 'Rumours.' When I talked with (former Fleetwood Mac singer) Stevie Nicks recently, she was about to make a record and told me she had only 13 days to record." http://www.chicagotribune.com/entert...,4623141.story |

From a Vancouver Sun article on Bryan Adams:
According to his former record label rep Michael Godin, Adams dropped a couple of songs off his Reckless album because Stevie Nicks was interested in recording them. Read more: http://www.vancouversun.com/entertai...#ixzz1xjID6maI |

"Holds the record for most Grammy nominations for Best Female Rock Vocal without a win"
Shameful. She's now like the Susan Lucci of rock and roll... |

[There's a picture of a woman kneeling by a pothole that the article jokes looks like Stevie. To me, the woman looks more like Christine.]
http://www.universalhub.com/2012/cit...thats-big-hole Citizen Complaint of the Day A concerned citizen takes time to note that when a pothole approaches wading-pool size, it's getting a little bit too big. Ed. note: The complaint says 222 Cambridge St., Boston. But the Google Street View of 222 Cambridge by Mass. General doesn't look anything like that. 222 Cambridge in Allston, at Sorrento St., however, does, kinda. We're not even going to hazard a guess as to why Stevie Nicks is on pothole patrol in Boston. |

Of all the extended versions from the TITN singles this one is probably the least interesting imo, but still a fun mix. |
