"The Wild Heart" album discussion podcast

Hey all,

For those who are interested we had a two and a half hour discussion about "The Wild Heart" last night on my Phonogenics 101 podcast - of course all opinions are subjective. Had a blast thanks to those who joined me!

Good work! I have a feeling you'll hear from Stevie's people. You deserve to!

I nominate Mitzo, if he would consider it. I bet he has things to say about that album (and tour) that many of us either never thought of or don’t remember. Same holds for Michele and blackcat. It was my favorite tour by far of the Nicks corpus. Love was in the air.

Thanks but I thought Unwinded Dreams was saying that people working with Stevie herself should contact Jeremy and the commentators?

I personally love the album, see it as a quantum leap ahead from BD, and get tingles whenever I hear the first bars of some of the tracks.

BTW aren't at least two of the people in the Youtube vid with Jeremy actually here on the ledge? Is one of them me?

Stevie's people should contact Jeremy and set it up so Stevie can join his program. Jeremy does a fantastic job.
If you were in the video, you did wonderfully too!

I was one of the five to do the podcast. I had a blast and had a chance to tell some very personal stories. Thank you Jeremy for having me on. Having Stevie join us would be fun and very overwhelming for me but it would exceedingly unlikely she would even consider it. I thought the flow of this podcast went very well and I am looking forward to Rock A Little.

Hello to both Greendaze5 Roland, and to J Miller. I was not on the video panel but really enjoyed your commentary. I am a bit shy to do it but I may join next time.

Come on in Mitzo don’t be shy. I am shy too and I got a few things off my chest that I have been wanting to say.

:wavey: The chat on 'Rock a Little' will be in early March.

Do join in if you can. Just contact Jeremy for details.

I want to join one of these! Really enjoyed the two that have been done so far.

I remember receiving the cassette version of “The Wild Heart” as a Christmas gift in the early 90s. I was so excited to open it and listen to it.

I think it has some of Stevie’s best vocals. It’s a bridge between her more disciplined singing with Fleetwood Mac and on Bella Donna, and the truly unhinged era she would enter with Rock a Little. At the same time, she was still hitting some of those high falsetto notes that I love (eg on the title track) — the last time she would, really, until Trouble In Shangri-La.

It’s that title track I love best, along with “I Will Run To You” (yes!) and “Nightbird.” This album is the one I return to most, along with Rock a Little.

I can't wait for "Rock A Little" and I really can't wait for my beloved (for sentimental value mostly) "Street Angel" !!!

Was there no discussion of Rock a Little on Youtube?

I hope you do the panel for Rock a Little, Mitzo!
