Film director Robert Rodriguez named his new baby girl Rhiannon

She Promised You Heaven
Welcome into the world, Rhiannon Elizabeth Rodriguez-Avellán, all 21 inches of you. She came forth like a bell through the night on Dec. 8. Father Robert Rodriguez did indeed get naming duties, and, yes, he's a closet Fleetwood Mac fan. Mom Elizabeth Avellán notes the name also hearkens to an incredible figure from Celtic mythology. Like her ultra-busy filmmaking parents, Rhiannon is in a hurry. She was born 10 days ahead of schedule and, we can presume, came in well under budget.

Congrats to them!

Lol

Congrats to them! I would love to hear just ONE person say "This is my daughter, Rhiannon." and then someone go "Oh, you are a Stevie Nicks fan?" and them go "Who?"

I always knew Robert Rodriguez was super cool. I love the fact his boys are called Racer, Rocket, and Rebel; fantastic names.

On edit: Whoops, I thought David was asking, "Who is Robert Rodriguez?" Anyway, for the unenlightened:

All the Spy Kids movies
From Dusk 'til Dawn
Once Upon a Time in Mexico
Desperado
Sin City
etc., etc.

Congratulations to Robert Rodriguez and his wife for the baby girl and the beautiful name they chose for her. Can't say I'm a big fan of his cinema though, I really loved only his first movie, El Mariachi, and liked Spy Kids.

Have you seen Sin City? It's my favorite of all his films!

Yes, I've seen it, I liked some parts (especially those with Mickey Rourke and Bruce Willis) but his usual tendency to overdo wasted some of the darker moments (the cardinal, the pedophile serial killer), where IMO the noise, the violence should have become more humbled to let aside at times the crazed rhythm for a more deep glance. Tarantino showed to know the difference between pulp and a videogame instead, and the scene he directed (the dialogue between Owen and the dead Del Toro) stood out as the most powerful for me.
