Did Stevie veto On With the Show?
Stevie vetoed the playing of On With the Show during the tour of the same name.

Do we even know that it was written then?

I don't believe this. The song was probably a demo at the time. The band was welcoming Chris back and putting all her songs in the mix. Stevie would not have such veto power anyway. If Lindsey wanted to do the song. He would have done it. |
It was written before Christine came back. So, yes. Like a spirit catcher.. it was a call to all arms to get the band going.
On With The Show... No idea if it was vetoed. |
If it was vetoed for Fleetwood Mac it would have surely been played on the Buckingham McVie tour just to make a point. My guess is it was originally intended for a Fleetwood Mac album but it was clear early on Stevie wasn't playing ball so it was held back.

i doubt there was any discussion of playing new songs during OWTS tour. Lindsey gave up for that specific tour, and i have to assume was hoping FM may have a follow-up touring the new album. when it became clear that was not happening they quickly switched plans and went ahead with BuckVie release. considering that whole meandering history i'm ecstatic that BuckVie release and tour actually happened!! :]:] now on to LB new album and solo tour! 2018 is almost here, we need to plan our year and need those dates soon Lindsey!! :wavey: :wavey: |

Mick has his little band, too. It's really nice to see all the members doing what they want. I would not mind a Final FM album without Stevie. I wanted that final 5 originally. But, now that she's stated she doesn't want to create because of money and how hard it would be for her to break the industry. blah blah.. I'm set on hearing more music from Mick Christine and Lindsey... John will always play on.. pun intended.. |
