It is amazing that there is absolutely zero concert audio from his brief time in the band. It's shocking that this footage exists.

Weirdly, just looking Christine’s right hand and what John and Weston are playing, it’s probably “Goin’ Down,” which was their encore song.

It was great to see the film footage of Dave, but wasn't it weird to see a guitar-less man take the lead in the Mac?

John McVie might still have some audio of Dave Walker's stint in the band.. this from his Q & A from 2006. It would be great to hear it.


I always wanted to know this. In one of the previous questions and answer sessions with Ken Caillat, he mentioned that there were many live recordings of concert performances of Fleetwood Mac. Is this true? If so, does this include most of the shows you did from the White album tour (75')? Do you think these will ever be released, the same way that Led Zeppelin did? There is a great desire by fans to actually hear soundboard recordings done back in the late 70's. (Mickey, new york, New York, U.S.A.)

Hi Mickey,Thanks for the question, During our last house move a few months ago I found a box full of old soundboard cassettes. I think there's one with Dave Walker on it. So that shows you how old they are. I bought an "analog to digital" transfer unit but haven't got 'round to putting them on CD. Do you, or anyone, have any tips on how to treat these old cassettes? I haven't played them so I would think they're pretty fragile. The Band has no plans to release anything like this. So maybe I'll start a company, sell them on E-bay, piss the band off and make a fortune. (There goes the Tour!) All the Best! John

God I love John's sense of humor.

This footage is gold. Pure gold. If this brief clip is anything to go on, it shows how extensively they used Walker as the focal point of their live shows in early 73.

god i know. i just went back and looked over some of his answers. in my head i can hear chris describing him in the BBC documentary...'he was an hysterical guy. very dry sense of humor...' before she started gushing about his fu manchu mustache and long hair, and how he stood out in a room because he was sooo handsome. :xoxo:

I always wonder when John said “we’re a blues band, you know” in 1975 if that was sarcasm that went over everyone’s head. Nothing on the 1975 was any softer or less bluesy than other songs in their catalog. It’s not as if “Sentimental Lady” and “Come A Little Bit Closer” were boogie rock.

Chris sure was a sucker for that type of guy(see Dennis Wilson).

I'm confused. Why is "For Your Love" playing while the video seems to be of another song? That makes no sense. If it was filmed with a movie camera that didn't record sound, why not just post it as a silent movie and explain that audio isn't available?
