Looking forward to 2018 tour

Like everyone else I am seriously looking forward to Fmac 2018 Tour..

One thing that is already interesting me....
Will Stevie be allowed all the chat about her songs ?
We know that during her latest Solo tour she rambles on a lot.

And thinking about it ...what’s she got left to chat about ?
We’ve already heard it all......or have we.

Macfan4life 11-20-2017 06:58 PM

I cant imagine her telling the Gypsy story again. I hope I am wrong but I suspect tensions will be high during this tour. We may get no chatter at all. At least during 2014 the novelty of Christine back in the band broke up some of the tensions. After seeing Buckingham/McVie up close I am fearful I wont enjoy the Mac show as much as I should unless they really mix it up which is a pipe dream.

I'm not terribly excited about this upcoming tour. Coming so quickly off the other massive world tour, this roundup feels perfunctory, a by-the-numbers cash grab. I hope I'm wrong. Maybe there will be a handful of new songs or some deep cuts?

I'd much rather Lindsey and Christine return to the studio for a second BuckVie project. (I'd wish for a full-band studio album if I didn't think wishing on it was useless.)

same.

really hope Lindsey's solo tour goes on for at least a few months next year - need that fill of more new stuff and hopefully some requests! :]

and then i hope BuckVie get to go into studio for a month or 2 and work on their 2nd album so they can have it in a can and just add finishing touches during the Mac tour. that way they can be ready to put it out right after that Mac tour and give us another BuckVie. :xoxo:

Same. UNLESS they put out some new material (which they won't).

It's just another stupid cash grab. Lame.

I think BV showed Lindsey and Christine how it should be. Going out on a creative note. With no animosity within the band. No drama. No FAKE LOVEY DOVEY garbage on stage.

Rip this FM bandaid off, and give us another BV album and tour! What a way to end their careers! :xoxo::xoxo::xoxo:

I think here in The UK I’m coming from a slightly different angle.
It will be 3 years since they’ve been in The UK and Buckvie haven’t
toured here, so I AM looking forward.
Having said that I would definitely like a new set..

I definitely want you to get to see the Mac again. :wavey:

Personally I would love another BuckVie album.

Also, I'm really looking forward to the Buckingham solo. I have no desire to see the full band for whatever reason. I saw enough shows last tour and it was so scripted. I really don't need more Fmac. I hope they do 30 shows in US an d 10 shows in UK/Europe and a few in Oz... then wrap it up.

I would like a UK tour with loads of tracks we never hear....
And if (as seems so) no new Album
Call it a day and do solo or duo stuff

secondhandchain 11-22-2017 02:00 AM

I have ZERO interest in this tour without new music. Plus Stevie has so much hate for Lindsey and she doesn't hide it anymore. I have no interest in seeing their fake interaction.

Macfan4life 11-22-2017 06:15 AM

We are probably 15% of the Mac concert goers who know the deep tracks or want new music. They must play all the hits or get food thrown at them. Its just reality and its not unique to the Mac. However there are some unique fan bases like Bruce or the Stones where they could get away with not playing one hit and still pack the house to rave reviews.
I had the Buck/McVie CD since its release and its been in my car's CD player ever since. I was looking forward to hearing all the music during the show but to my surprise I much preferred to hear their new tracks than the Mac tunes they played. Even in that small crowd, I was in the minority of the minority. I guess things could be way worse. The Eagles just announced a 12 night stadium tour. I would never attend a stadium concert even with the Mac. They play for the masses and the sound is crap. I know Stevie (only) fans will flame me for saying this but please don't complain about the band playing the same songs over and over. Stevie is the reason there is no new music with the Mac....end of story period. She has surrendered her music creativity to the drama between her and Lindsey. She is content in life playing new solo music to her fans but even happier for the big pay check from the Mac for singing Rhiannon, Gold Dust Woman, Dreams and Landslide for the tenth million time.

Couldn't have said better myself. Stevie's fans are anxiously waiting for the Mac tour to hear over and over again that crappy 10 minutes long Gypsy story, in which half of the things she says are not true. And don't you dare interrupt her or let her know she should finish because you get the cold shoulder for the rest of the night.

An Australian journalist complained about it recently and Stevie's fans flamed her for it, because they LOVE her story. I go to a concert to listen to music. If I want to hear Stevie telling false stories then she should do a Stevie convention or something like that.

I also want to hear new music and that's not gonna happen with the Mac because Stevie doesn't want to and Mick does want Stevie wants. That's why Lindsey and Chris decided to start a new project. I thank Chris every day of my life for being on board with Lindsey.

Having said that, I'll definitely go to some Mac concerts, because I only saw them live once. And I want more. But the drama will be there, for sure.

I don't mind a quick story. But that Gypsy story was nails on a chalkboard. I did like the story after the show about how her spirit catcher brought Christine back..:lol::wavey:

I've been absent from this site for a while; can someone update me on when the tour is supposed to start now? Thanks

Oh, yeah, her sprit catcher was what surely brought Christine back. I can imagine the other four rolling their eyes behind her.

Not really. I would much prefer another BuckVie tour accompanying another duo album from the two of them.

Stevie should continue with solo touring. That makes her fans happy.

I wouldn't mind a solo album from Stevie. Not re-hashed demos.. but new writing. I bet it would be good.

aleuzzi 11-22-2017 12:42 PM

Stevie's the big draw. The bulk of the audience is there for her and for her fake interactions with Lindsey and for her dream catcher and gypsy stories and for her shawls. And she can still put on a good show--just not a terribly creative or innovative one. I WAS surprised and pleased about "Gold Dust Woman" from the On With the Show tour. But I could live a full and happy life if I never heard them play Landslide, Dreams, Never Going Back Again and Songbird again. The whole setlist has become so tiresome.

Not so with the Buckvie tours. And no so when Stevie is on her own. "They're better off apart, let's give it a try..."

What's nice is the medium and low draw. That BuckVie show in front of 6K at a crazy sold out Greek was unreal. I paid $150 out the door for a few rows back and I can't remember enjoying a show that much.

Big draws are great for the 75 Million pay off, but it doesn't necessarily inform the music. You get a big screen and over priced seats. And the promoters pay for the setlist blah...

I think BuckVie are on to something. They still get albums and have a cult following.. it's PERFECT.. ;)

FuzzyPlum 11-22-2017 01:40 PM

I'm not excited at all about another Fleetwood Mac tour. The only thing I'd find interesting is if they confirmed they'd headline the Glastonbury festival. I'll probably go but I'll only shell out for cheap seats... no breaking the bank this time.
Otherwise I'd be much more excited if BuckVie brought their show to the UK. For that I would go all out for good tickets.

Macfan4life 11-22-2017 02:17 PM

I hate to say this. I saw Stevie solo in 2017 and Buckingham McVie solo in 2017. Each concert was incredible. One complaint about each performance. Stevie cutting 2 of her most epic verses ever written from Edge of 17 and no Christine solo work on the Buck/McVie tour. But each concert was excellent. Maybe they truly are better off apart

Of course they are. As the years go by Stevie becomes more and more insufferable. She used to be very gracious about Lindsey, not anymore. You notice how he doesn't go down to her level? Some will be mad at me for what I am saying but she brought all the negativity on this board on herself.

He never went down to her level. She does what she does to catch his attention. I think he used to care about it. Since BuckVie, not anymore. And that's what bothers her.

I definitely agree with that. Both are far from perfect. All we can do now is enjoy what's left of their time here making music for us fans.

It's true...

don't think you'll find much disagreement with that on this board (that's why band member worshipers hate it here!).

and, we all know only Christine is Perfect! :xoxo: :thumbsup:

Ok you guys are going to say I'm in the wrong thread, but you will see that I have a good reason. So is everyone still having a 2 minute wait before the threads load? It's way cutting down on my site visits. Too annoying to wait. Now you see why I'm posting here?

Not here. Only one thing takes me a couple of minutes....:p

Making my world famous bloody marys!!!!:lol::lol:

ON TOPIC, Chris really is the most perfekt of the five, hands down. Look at all their frailties, addictions, bankruptcies, anger issues,etc... Really, what were hers? Other than liking Dennis Wilson?

I need to try those bloody marys. Soon. :xoxo:

I was looking at my videos and it brings tears to my eyes to see Christine singing Shut Us Down and cheering people up. She's such a good bandmate, such a good friend! There's no a fiber of evilness in her body. I never read a bad comment about her and it's such an honor for all of us to have her in our favorite band.

And I don't blame her about Dennis Wilson. The man was hot! :woohoo:

I really think this BV album and tour was such an eye opener for her and Lindsey. They might only be selling a few thousand tickets, but it's so much more enjoyable for them. When you really are trekking down the end of your touring years, and are multi-millionaires, what's more important? A bunch of freaking drama, or an easy labor of love. God I pray they do another BV!!!!!!!

Yeah, but he was a LOSER:sorry:. Somebody be spending my money like that, I'd show them the door in about 30 seconds! :o

Yes. And no. The problem still exists. The only work around is to install pop up and ad blockers. Since I did that I have zero problems. Works for iOS and Safari now. Soon as I turn them off it takes so long that the site times out. The problem is in some code that an ad is using. Likely Malicious spyware installers and hackers or an infected web server that is trying something possibly illegal. Since the transfer in ownership of the site the “Contact” page is missing an email address to contact a webmaster or owner I’ve noticed. I’ve posted the diagnosis several times and nobody has fixed it. I’ve also noticed a big drop off in number of postings. People ar bing turned away and are finding better, functional places to go instead of the Broken Down Ledge. “Oh Well”.

If my FM friends want to go, I might buy a really good ticket. If they don't, meh, I'll probably just buy a nosebleed, and deal with it.

I'd TEN TIMES rather see another BV album and tour!

I'm also hoping for "new material" on the setlist. But I only see them live once so anything's good for me.

My only wish: Fireflies. But I doubt they will add it. It will mean coming full circle. A ver circular, cosmical, organic thing.
