Billboard 2015 year-end charts

Well, quite an amazing achievement for the Mac for 2015. It really does show that album sales have really slumped when a Greatest Hits album is the 71st best-selling album of the year!

Still, incredible. Fleetwood Mac's Greatest Hits album ended up at #71 on Billboard's Top 200 albums of the year chart on sales of approximately 250,000 copies which shows how although it didn't reach very high in the charts in 2015, it sold consistently for the whole year unlike new releases which debut higher.

The album also reaches #2 on the Year-end Catalog Albums chart and Fleetwood Mac are at #4 for Top Catalog Artists.

Although nowhere to be seen on any charts, reports say that Rumours was the 192nd best-selling album of 2015 selling approximately 126,000 copies.

So, a great year for the Mac and especially the Greatest Hits album which in my opinion should be certified 10xPlatinum by now.

Let's hope we see a new Mac album on 2016's year-end list! Thanks guys. :)

I don't really understand why 'Greatest Hits' continues to sell so well when the 'Very Best of...' albums are available. They have a much better spread of songs.

Billboard 200 Chart Moves: 12-Year-Old Pianist Joey Alexander Has Big Gain, Hits No. 1 on Jazz Albums

...Now, let’s take a closer look at some of the action on the latest Billboard 200 chart:

— Fleetwood Mac, Greatest Hits - No. 87 — Perhaps surprisingly, this 1988 release was the third-largest selling album of 2015 in the U.S. for Warner Bros. Records, with 257,000 sold. Ahead of it: Josh Groban’s Stages (637,000) and Kid Rock’s First Kiss (354,000). The classic Rumours-era lineup of Fleetwood Mac reunited in 2014 for a successful world tour, which played more than 100 shows in 2014 and 2015. Clearly, fans were energized by the reunion and tour, and turned to buying the Greatest Hits album. Its sales in 2015 grew 114 percent compared to its haul in 2014 (120,000).

In a similar vein The Very Best of Fleetwood Mac saw a sales spike in the UK recently. It was at #81 last week and #88 this week.
