MacMan 04-16-2007 07:05 PM

I think it would be a smart move too. How many actual videos are there? I haven't really thought about it to be honest...

Lala 04-19-2007 02:22 PM

I want it bad...with commentary like the CV DVD.

Well, there is some wellknown footage for:

Rhiannon
GOYW
etc.

'Real' video's:

Sara
Tusk
Gypsy
Hold Me
Big Love
Seven Wonders
Everywhere
Family Man
Isn't Midnight (basicly the TITN concertvideo)
Little Lies
No questions Asked
As long as you follow
Save Me
In the Back of my Mind
Skies the Limit
Peacekeeper

That are all I can think of right now.

There has also been a video for Paper Doll and from the same sesion as Peacekeeper (rehearsal), Say You Will was shot!
And you also have to add The Dance promo videos, if you do a DVD with that.
Hmmmm...that must've been all.
Has there been a promo video for No Questions Asked at all? I don't know about that one.

From the Rosebud doc.

Not to "No Questions Asked." However, there was one for "Love Shines" and, as mentioned, "Paper Doll." Also, I'd have to question "Sara" and "Tusk" being "real videos" as they are just from the "Tusk" doc (the REAL potential gem for DVD release).

I'd love to see a compilation a la Crystal Visions.
I doubt a commentary would be possible but it would certainly be interesting!! Especially if Chris joined them for its recording.

I didn't know Family Mam had a video. Is the whole band in it?

Was there a animated version of 'Everywhere.?

As far as I know it's just a "remix" of the other TITN videos.

Yeah, "Rhiannon," et al., were simply lifted from the Rosebud documentary, so I wouldn't call those "proper" videos. Same with "Sara," as it was lifted from the Tusk documentary. However, I would consider the one for "Tusk" to be a "proper" video, as it's not taken from the documentary... it's a stand-alone video.

Also, promotional clips were filmed in Paris for both "Dreams" and "Don't Stop," so those should be included in the list as well.

In regards to the "Family Man" video -- that was something cobbled together for MTV in Australia, where the song was a huge hit. The video consists of recycled scenes from the "Seven Wonders" video mixed with some stock footage of "families," so I wouldn't count that one.

"Isn't It Midnight," "The Chain," "Silver Springs" and "Landslide" were also lifted directly from the 'Tango In The Night' and 'The Dance' full-length concert videos, respectively. Although "The Chain" and "Silver Springs" were edited to shorter running times.

Anyway, the list of stand-alone promotional videos should look like this....

Dreams
Don't Stop
Tusk
Gypsy
Hold Me
Big Love
Seven Wonders
Little Lies
Everywhere
As Long As You Follow
Save Me
Skies The Limit
In The Back Of My Mind
Paper Doll
Love Shines
Peacekeeper
Say You Will

I would add Sara, live or not. MTV always aired it as the video for 'Sara.'

True... they also played "Rhiannon," "Go Your Own Way" and "You Make Loving Fun" as videos, too... but, I didn't include those (or "Isn't It Midnight" and the clips from 'The Dance') because they're simply lifted from a full-length concert and/or documentary.

I was going by the criteria of videos filmed for the sole purpose of promoting a particular single.

Sahara 04-21-2007 07:01 PM

Wasn't there a petition at some stage to get a compilation like this released? Or did I dream that...?
