Peter Green with Duane Allman & Dickey Betts - 11/70
 

Happened to see a link to a thread on an Allman Brothers Band web forum that mentions a show at the Warehouse in New Orleans from November 1970 where Green jammed with Duane Allman & Dickey Betts. Here are the links to that thread and to a page about that specific show:

The thread also notes that "Butch Trucks actually had fond memories of Green sitting in with the band" - don't know where that info came from, though, or if it is reference to that specific show. As noted in the thread as well as in Martin Celmins' book, Green stayed with Nick Buck (who, contrary to one of the posts in the thread, was not yet a member of Hot Tuna) in New Orleans after Green's stay at Godard Free College in Vermont in the second half of 1970.

Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like there are any recordings of this jam in existence, but you never know when something unexpected might turn up!

Actually the "ABB/Grateful Dead/FMac" jam is fairly well circulated.

There was a thread here a couple (or more) years ago about that. There was a photo of the three bands (or members of all three actually)...I identified who was who in the photo. They identified the person who I thought was Duane Allman as Danny Kirwan. And, they said that Duane Allman was who I thought was Phil Lesh. Could go either way. I would've thought Duane would've taken more of an out front position on stage, hence my thought that was him and not Danny (who I would've thought would've stayed in the background).

EDIT: OOOPS! Never mind...I had read the thread about the Fillmore jam with the GD/ABB/FMac. This is something totally different.

Yes, that jam at the Fillmore East from 2/70 is pretty well-known, but this was the first I'd heard of a jam later that year in New Orleans.

As I was editing my post, you replied. Yeah, that was the Fillmore show I'd read about.

Apparently, it was the same tour...those NOLA shows were not so good for the Grateful Dead, since they were busted after one of the shows. It DID provide them with one of their more well known songs, though, with "Truckin'".
