Yikes!

Nothing is worth killing yourself over...NOTHING.

I hope she's okay too. I just saw her on that Bravo special 100 Greatest TV Characters and "Diane Chambers" and "Sam Malone" were on the list. :)

'Cheers' Alum Long Briefly Hospitalized

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- "Cheers" alum Shelley Long was back home after being briefly hospitalized because she took a dose of medication to treat back pain and the drug made her ill, her manager said Friday.

"Shelley took an extra pain pill for her back, which she hurt when she fell on the set of `Cheers' many years ago," Martin Mickelson told The Associated Press. "She had a reaction to it ... but she is now home and she is fine."

The actress, who played the prim and neurotic Diane Chambers on the hit 1980s sitcom, was treated overnight sometime within the last two weeks at the University of California, Los Angeles, Medical Center, Mickelson said.

"She had a nice Thanksgiving," he added.

Mickelson denied published reports Friday that suggested Long, 55, had apparently taken an overdose of painkillers brought on by the breakup of her 22-year marriage to stockbroker Bruce Tyson.

The New York Post reported Long was hospitalized on Nov. 16 and released Tuesday.

Bless her heart. I hope she gets the help she needs, soon.

That makes me very sad. I always had to pick Diane over Rebecca, though they were both so good. I really like her. I'm glad she's ok, sort of...
It's sad she and her husband are splitting up. I hope she's ok. :( And 'member The Money Pit? And that movie with Corbin Bernsen where she dies and her ghost gets to watch her life? :( That movie was kind of good. And, one of the first movies i saw in a theater with a friend - Irreconcilable Differences. She was good in that....
C'mon, Shelley, it'll be ok! :wavey: :xoxo:

Sounds like she accidentally OD'd. She probably wasn't aiming to kill herself.

Exactly. She's skeletal to begin with, an extra percoset could send her spiraling. There's ntohing to suggest that she attempted suicide.

I love Cheers and I love her in it. It's really a shame when someone seems to have it all but is still so depressed.

I hope she pulls through!

How sad

She is a good actress and seems to be a good person too. I hope she is doing much better and will get some counselling. Suicide is not the answer, especially over a divorce. She has so much to live for. I hope she realizes that time heals all wounds.

That's what I'm thinking, too. And I hope that's the case.

well, but what about how she's been telling her friends she feels there is nothing to live for, and how depressed she is? that seems like evidence to me.
