Fleetwood Mac Influenced Behaviors
 

So I was at a store today deciding to make a relatively expensive purchase to replace something perfectly good I already own. As I was debating and all of the "do it" "don't do it" messages were running through my head, the opening chords of "Don't Stop" sang out through the store speakers and all I had to hear was Christine's lovely voice singing "Why not think about times to come, and not about the things that you've done." I took that to mean I should take the plunge and just buy it already! So I did. After all, "yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone!"

Anyone else influenced to make a purchase or to do anything you were debating when a Mac song played unexpectedly to help you decide?

I see the title of this thread and I snicker to myself and think of Marissa.

But anyway.... yes, I feel like a lot of my perceptions on weird things have somehow been influenced by the band.

Absolutely. All the time. Can't think of any good examples right about now, but I will get back to this thread in a while when something does happen! :)

I don't know that it has ever influenced my behavior in the way you describe.

However, I've picked up a number of Lindsey's ticks. Like the way he shakes when listening to music to get into the groove. I do that all the time with my headphones on. I'm sure I look like a freak but it makes me feel all Lindsey-ish.

Thinking of "Don't Stop" is a good thing to do when you're feeling down and just wondering if things will ever get better.

One example: I think that Stevie has taught me that its okay to be a rambling crazy person as long as you're a passionate, fiery and feminine rambling crazy person. I'm reaaaaaaaaaally good at the artsy, (pseudo?) insightful blabber.

Just watch any of my videos in the Chit Chat section. It's so true. I have to consciously control myself... and I still fail.

Hmm... I've never really thought of Stevie as being the insane band member. Lindsey's always come first in my mind for that.

I think that's one of the things the album is saying - it is ok to go insane, it can be quite cathartic actually, to watch yourself go out to the edge and sort of reel yourself back in - now hopefully you do reel yourself back in.
